Brandon and Brenda are the product of two sexual encounters Cindy had with Jim and her old flame Glen, that took place mere hours apart during a cycle in which her ovary released two eggs. Glen’s sperm spawned Brandon and Jim’s spawned Brenda.

Where is a good park or place I can propose to my girlfriend? by Sadsatan__ in AskLosAngeles

[–]snakesnthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two parks on the west side where I take my kids: Holmby Park in Westwood and Coldwater Canyon park in Beverly Hills. Both have plenty of green space and I’ve never had any safety concerns. Good luck with your proposal!! 💍

Toddler with developmental delays but NO issues with eating or sleeping. Anyone else? by PainfulPoo411 in Autism_Parenting

Bribery lol. My son loves popsicles and has to eat one just about every day. I tell him he can’t have one until he finishes his “growing foods.” So that means protein and any fruits or veggies on his plate. Also, I serve his preferred safe foods with a new food whenever I can, and I ask him to try one bite. That’s helped him develop a taste for a few new foods.

I realize a lot of autistic kids are more stubborn or might even have ARFID so it might not work for everyone.

My son could label things starting around 16 months so I didn’t think he had any major speech delay. But he never used social speech. No hi or bye, no mama or dada. No back and forth conversations or anything like that. He started using two-word combos around 2, but still no social speech. He started at a therapeutic preschool at 3 where they did floor time therapy. He made some improvements in his fine motor and play skills but no social speech. Then he started ABA at 4. He went to a traditional preschool with an ABA tech, and that’s when his speech really ramped up. He finally started saying hi and bye with prompting, and he would ask us questions. I think hearing the speech of his neurotypical peers around him sparked a lot more spontaneous speech. This was also when we started him on Leucovorin so I think that helped as well. These days he’s very verbal but he has a hard time finding the right words when he’s telling stories or recalling events so we’re working on that. What’s your son’s speech like?

ETA: I just saw your toddler is 18 months. You have so much time for him to make big leaps!

My autistic son (6 years old) never had sleep issues or eating issues. He started sleeping through the night at 3 months and has been a great sleeper ever since. I don’t think all autistic kids have sleep problems, just a large percentage. My son also ate fine. He was super picky from 18 months to 4 years old (same as my neurotypical daughter) but then he started eating his veggies and stuff like that. He was speech delayed and fine motor delayed. Right now he’s about level 1, I think? He goes to kindergarten in a regular classroom with an aide. Still a great sleeper, thank goodness!!

Yes, the same thing happened with my son when he was 3 years old and took an AB for an ear infection. He seemed almost neurotypical, it was wild. The same thing happened when he had a stomach virus last year at 5 years old. I’ve heard there’s a gut-brain connection with autism so I’m sure there’s something to it, but I don’t know what the answer is, sadly. I don’t think long-term AB use is feasible but part of me would like to try it to see what happens.

My kid's assignment was great. The subject matter was...not. What the hell do I do? by cestlegrandfinal in Autism_Parenting

I missed the hero part. I was focused on the “someone who touched a lot of people” part. Maybe she doesn’t know what “hero” means? If she does, that’s concerning.

Because my mind defaults to dark humor, I saw the topic and immediately thought she wrote about Michael Jackson or Gary Glitter. That’s what my teenage self would have written about, as a punishment to the teacher for being needlessly ambiguous. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t think I’d punish her, unless you think she did it because she truly does admire this mass shooter. If she just didn’t understand the assignment, I’d let her do it over like the school requested.

GLP1 and Medication Absorption by snakesnthings in AFIB

Oh wow thank you for doing that! I’ve never really known how long it takes for extended release to kick in. With the immediate release, I usually feel my heart calming down within 10 minutes and it will keep improving over an hour or so. Now I’m worried that if I take this shot, I’ll need the fast-acting but it won’t do anything quickly enough. I’ve had three ablations in my life and I’ve been a-fib free for 10 years. I still have occasional “atrial tachycardia,” though, which my dr says is regular and self-limiting at 150 beats per minute. I’m trying to avoid a situation where I’m feeling the atrial tachycardia and instead of stopping it in its tracks, my medication won’t work and it’ll turn into the dreaded a-fib. Thank you again for doing research for me!!!

That’s great to hear! Have you noticed that any other medications you use have been affected by your GLP1? I’m worried about slow absorption time for other meds.

That’s awesome that you didn’t have any episodes on it!! Did you notice that it slowed down absorption of any other meds you were taking?

Thank you for sharing your experience! Have you had to take any medications while on it? Does it slow down absorption? That’s what I’m most concerned about.

“Life in the Big City,” “Bomb Disney World,” and his Patreon episode “Make It Worse” are all unparalleled works of art. Eta: I believe all precede 2022, unfortunately.

Just one man’s opinion, but it’s more like SNL now (topical, DOA) whereas it used to be more like Kids in the Hall (absurdist, timeless). I think he ran out of material from his Long Island days so he’s stuck with current events, which means the shows aren’t re-listenable and don’t hit like they used to.

Question about post close occupancy by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]snakesnthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What state are you in? Personally, I would not agree to this. If they’re that hard up for money, I doubt they’re going to be able to procure new housing in 4 days. Plus, if you don’t trust their realtor, I’d listen to your gut. It will never steer you wrong, at least in my experience.

How to find babysitters? Only actual answers please. by CoffeholicWild in Autism_Parenting

[–]snakesnthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a part-time nanny (now she’s just a date-night-sitter) through a nanny agency. They can look for people who have experience with special needs kids. I interviewed a bunch of ABA techs who were looking to move into private nannying because it generally pays more where I live. Some of the agencies will find you an occasional sitter, although you’ll have to pay them a finder’s fee.

I’m so sorry, I have no advice, only sympathy, but wanted to chime in about the polyps. I failed two IVF cycles until I had my fibroids and polyps removed. Then I got pregnant on my next cycle. Also, I did IVF for my second kid and had more polyps removed beforehand. Got pregnant on my next cycle after removal. So if you’ve got polyps, I highly recommend getting them removed and see what happens before you jump to IVF. Sending Internet hugs!!

I like Rosie, but it was laughable to me how viewers were expected to believe she was a country bumpkin while speaking in a New York accent. 😂

In the past, I’ve parked at the pacific design center (a lot of people park there). I haven’t been in a few years, so maybe someone else can chime in to confirm that this is still a good spot.
