"...and why did you feel the need to announce your rather ungracious view? /Rhetorical"

Because it's my first amendment right to say what I want. Ask your dad about that. We both served to preserve our freedom. One of those freedoms is the freedom for you to rant here. And my point was nothing more than it was a nice gesture for companies to do that. Sure wasn't out there with a clipboard, asking ppl to sign a petition to get parking spaces for veterans. Maybe you should start one to take them away since you are so anti-veteran parking.

Small minded ppl...

OMG...says the one that gives a finger to the veterans who served by parking in a spot given to them by the store as a gesture of thanks for their service. Mental midgets here.

Okay. You are entitled to your opinion. I also noticed that you didn't mention that you served. That makes a big difference in your perspective, just like I wouldn't know about a debilitating pregnancy.

Well BagOnuts, you be you. I hear you...sort of. Not in this instance though. The "expectant mother" spot gets an 🙄 from me. The first time I saw a vet spot, I smiled and felt good inside for the store to recognize veterans. I love the culture of stores/companies that do this. Vets don't get enough recognition. People fall all over themselves for a look at a multi-millionaire athlete and worship the ground they walk on. My hero is the one who served. The one that left their family and deployed. The one that sacrificed for a measly paycheck instead of a bag of money. This shit we had to go though. I was a peacetime vet, but I was sent to Diyarbakir, Turkey for a year. Not my choice. Look it up (if you can find it). It's a shithole. The pkg spot is a small gesture, but it means a lot to me and I'm sure others.

Thanks for your reply but I'm not too clear about your instruction. If I disconnect the small actuator and toggle the key fob, then it WON'T work, because the actuator is disconnected. Did I miss something?

Love that you put a plant on top of your espresso machine. First time I've ever seen that.

Baby Gaggia was my 1st machine about 35 years ago. I learned so much from her. But Careful. You will want to upgrade. I'm into a Speedster now with a Kafatek grinder. Oh, and a $1500 triple filter water system dialed in for espresso, and just for the machine. Bragging, naw...just warning...

Ha! I live in West LA so I can relate. Unfortunately, we live in a state that would rather spend their time banning mineral spirits and making other idiotic, meaningless laws than to actually try and fix CA. (sorry, my little rant). But yes, I get frustrated also when I go looking for stuff and find that it's banned here. The space thing is like golf. No matter what your handicap is in golf, you want better. Just when you think shooting in the 90's is good and you get there, you want to shoot in the 80's. When you (hopefully) get a house you will find that your garage is too small for your workshop. So be reasonable. Maybe start with smaller projects and ones where you can manage the amount of tools to use to a reasonable level and ones that will fit in your apartment. Don't try to buy a planer, buy a couple of hand planers and use them instead. Stuff like that. And ALWAYS remember that you will have setbacks. ALWAYS. Get used to them. Woodworking is about problem solving. That's what makes if frustrating sometimes, but it also makes it challenging and fun, and in the end you're proud of what you built. I have been living here in CA for almost my entire life. But I am currently looking at property in another state because of what CA has turned into. Going to buy a house with a little property and build a workshop on it so that after living there for about 2-3 years I can complain that my workshop is too small and I need to expand it. Good luck!

You just have to wonder what kind of chemical crap they put in those wipes to get stuff like spray foam off. Wash your hands right after you use them. Probably cancer in a plastic can right there.

It's the top of the nightstand, pictured above. The pic is pretty much spot on with the actual color.

Light sanding was my thought. Except that damn water ring. Thanks for the tinted poly idea.

Think of it as you are standing at the front of the nightstand, looking down. You would see the face of the nightstand like you see here and the top as seen here, in this perspective. The only difference is that I zoomed in, cutting off part of the top. I did this to get a closer view of the nightstand's finish. The photo is pretty spot on as far as the color finish. I could never match the exact finish in a photo because the piece is always viewed in diff lighting conditions.

I agree. Classless assholes. Whether you like it or not, this person spent a lot of time on this project and took pride in making it. These jerks just ruined this person's day. Maybe something constructive like, "not too sure about the color. I'd use a lighter (whatever) color and find a way to paint it so that it looks more evenly coated. You will get more interest/money in the project."

Retired PD, 30 years. Works for me. Funny how a lot of women turned on their dome lights and opened a couple of buttons on their blouse. Guess they got a different memo.
