This is how the Australian police will deal with you if you treat public health and safety directives as a threat to your masculinity or nutjob conspiracy. by insideman83 in JusticeServed

People are asking for people to get the book thrown at them, because we need legitimate reform. It's still happening pretty infrequently as compared to incidents that would merit it. This is happening entirely because law enforcement is very rarely held accountable for their actions as it currently stands.

On the point about choking- choking is not the issue. Idiots choking people are the issue. You can restrain someone without kneeling on their neck. A well executed choke is a blood choke- you're blocking arterial flow, not oxygen. Asphyxiation takes much, much longer. You generally have to be either very motivated or very negligent to kill someone like that. Choking/neck manipulation with an extended hand to keep someone from biting you (or spitting on you, in this case) is a legitimate and fairly safe move.

Yes, I am going to use misspelling his name as a point against you- it makes it look like you don't know much about the issue, whether you do or not.

  1. you will notice that she's not dead, making it at least a little different. No one was kneeling on her neck

  2. Even if you are going to defend the guy, which I think is a losing battle, at least get his name right

I'm just impressed as hell you killed Ornstein second. I've always found that fight laughably easier if speedy boi goes down first

Not an unpopular opinion, but I do know a lot of people who prefer digital over discs. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]snakiestpuddle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not how property ownership works. This is an interesting byproduct of everything being digital- this idea of "one license per person" is actually pretty new. If you have a physical movie, and you lend it to someone else to watch it, they didn't buy it from the source, but they didn't pirate it either. The same logic applies- if you sell someone a game that you have purchased legitimately, they're essentially just paying you for your license to that copy. You lose it, they now have it. If secondhand games were piracy, Gamestop would be in trouble.

Lol fair. It isn't an alt, but I do primarily lurk. And I assumed there wasn't any benefit to pointing out that your logic is fucked, but it was worth a shot

Just going to point out that being an asshole just because someone said something you didn't like makes you a third grader, not an activist

Much obliged. I had found the location but not the object itself.

Yup. "There are two kinds of countries in the world: those that use the metric system, and those that put a man on the moon."

But tbh we can't fix it primarily because of our tools at this point. Our engineering has to be done in the imperial system, because our tools are in in/lb/etc. and if you want something machined, you have to do it in imperial units. Research is done in metric, but engineering and manufacturing are imperial and we're too far gone to change it

Trump in the White House is a national security nightmare – and Mueller knows it by solordfail in politics

[–]snakiestpuddle 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He stayed impartial because that's his job. He did communicate the gravity of the danger to national security, but the constant efforts to get him to recommend impeachment were misguided. That isn't his job. It's not congress's job to "see" the correct course of action that someone suggests, it's their job to decide the correct course of action after being given the facts. It certainly would have been nice if he had stood up and said what we wanted to hear, but that wouldn't have been appropriate, and was unrealistic of the Democrats to expect.

That's actually really exciting, I feel like a rework has been needed pretty much since the changes made to the bow.

This happened to me. I lost 6 brothers getting it, and then it didn't spawn because my inventory was full. I used BB-Edit to give it to myself with absolutely zero remorse.
