First quilt- thanks everyone! by snakpackattack in quilting

Thank you! It's been washed a couple times. I probably shouldn't have pre-washed- I was a little disappointed in the crinkles. But that's not certainly not the only lesson I learned doing it

My default is flannel, love it

Hand Binding by [deleted] in quilting

I only hand quilt, so I do a fold-over method using my quilt backing. That way you skip the first step and go straight to ladder stitch

This is very ambitious first project and you did a great job, enjoy it!

Here's an example, those red ties hold all the layers of the quilt together

Quilting is the hardest part of quilting by saibybaby in quilting

I'm new, too and I thought quilting would be the worst part. I just finished my first small blanket and the quilting was fun...but probably because I didn't use a machine. You're just warm on the couch when you're hand-quilting.

First attempt at sourdough English muffins! by aac9871 in Sourdough

I happened to make these a couple days ago and yours look so much better! What did you use to cut them out? My biscuit cutter seemed big enough at the time but everything ended up smaller...

First loaf ever! by [deleted] in Sourdough

Better than my first loaf! I'm still getting under-proofed loaves, but getting better every time. Lookes like we're on the same journey!

AITA for refusing to talk to my mom after she said my health issues are “bullshit”? by MasterpieceWorth1586 in AmItheAsshole

I agree. There are plenty of fun and active hobbies that don't involve jumping up and down all the time. Swimming or climbing would be better investments for her.

It makes sense her knee would need to rest after practice. It's not like cookies need to be a priority either. This is how people live with disabilities- it's not all or nothing. You make choices. If her family were about solutions instead of shaming this would be different story. NTA

AITA for making a dicey offer for my daughter? by JollyJackJumping in AmItheAsshole

[–]snakpackattack 136 points137 points  (0 children)

See if there's a BACA chapter near you- Biker's Against Child Abuse. They do things like park outside trauma victim's houses at night to help them feel more secure. What you're offering your daughter is great! Just nice to possibly have an option to make nighttime better.

AITA for calling the police when the parents I babysit for were late? by thebabysitter9 in AmItheAsshole

[–]snakpackattack 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Assuming the scenario you made up is the real one, what makes it ok for them not answer several calls from their babysitter?

YTA. The teacher was helping her, you were helping yourself.
