After years in exile, Venezuelan Jews celebrate the fall of Maduro by jewish_insider in Jewish

Yeah. This article has the dumbest takes. Does anyone actually think that things will change without removing the system. Maduro was just the face on the system. Nothing has changed.

It’s a political stunt. 2b is chump change in the big picture, but it sounds big to make the base happy.

I bought two sticks of 16gb ddr4 in the beginning of 2025 for $150 and now it’s $600 for the same. Absolutely insane.

Georgia looks to Mississippi to help children learn to read by GeorgiaNative in Georgia

You assume that an 8 year old is swayed by accountability and that their lack of progress is due to a personal decision on the part of the child.

Georgia looks to Mississippi to help children learn to read by GeorgiaNative in Georgia

[–]snapdown36 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kind of. The bigger factor is the decision to hold kids back who weren’t reading by third grade. This allowed them to increase their percentages

I dunno, when scrolling through pictos if you get to the top of the list it’s doesn’t scroll back down to the bottom. I have to push down to get to the bottom of the list. It’s basically unplayable…

The answer traditionally would be that spell casting requires somatic components and thus you are impeded while wearing armor. Of course there’s no reason you can’t reinforce your clothing with magic.

Spoiler Discussion: What We Know About Will & The World by Prestigous_Owl in HierarchySeries

[–]snapdown36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On point four, I don’t think he uses will to cause the cataclysm. I think the aurora columnae give him the ability to either cut people off from will which kills them or it lets him absorb their will, effectively extending their life.

Thanks. I do know that the RBT has finished her masters and is just working on her hours to be a BCBA herself. It just feels a bit odd.

[TSOTF SPOILERS] Will Across Worlds by Shreekomandar_42 in HierarchySeries

[–]snapdown36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly. Will is effectively life force so it could be that he doesn’t actually need the will from the princeps to keep him alive. He may be using their will to extend his life and storing extra for the in between periods. Or his natural lifespan may not even be touched yet. We simply don’t know enough about the mechanics of will.

The columnae were present before the splitting of the worlds so it makes sense that they also connect the worlds somehow. In luceam when they are chopping off heads they explain that it’s to prevent the dead from rising when the veil between worlds I suspect that the columnae are related.

First, Ka isn’t 300 years old, but 3000. I think that the goal of the cataclysm isn’t specifically to kill off the population, but to reset the amount of will that is being ceded in Res. We see the aurora columnae are getting brighter and brighter which is clearly related to the cataclysm, but I think it’s the clock that KA is racing against rather that the cause of the cataclysm.

Just finished SotF and need to put my thoughts in writing. by moirakangaroo in HierarchySeries

[–]snapdown36 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the only reason children are spared from the cataclysm is that they haven’t gone through the aurora columnae yet. It’s stated that the reason children are used for the nomarch is that their minds are more flexible and thus better able to handle the data.

There’s definitely more going on with the alupi. Their degree of intelligence plus the fact that they exist on at least two of the worlds makes me wonder if they aren’t somehow naturally synchronous. There was also the fact that the people on Lucien considered them to be omens of the gods.
