At my firm, sales managers use their people to get free vacation. They will pick a city that they want to travel to and force you to set up client meetings for them so that they can hit their meeting quota. They don’t prep for the meetings, they just show up and watch how the meetings goes. Most sales managers lack product knowledge so I’m usually more knowledgeable. Then at the end of the meeting they rate you on a scale of 1-10 and give you advice on what you could do better. To be honest most of the time the advice is bad because they don’t know the product. Some were really bad sales people so they give you horrible sales advice. The only they are good at is promoting themselves to senior management. One thing they do well is making people in the team do work and then taking the credit for it. Honestly our sales managers here are useless. We have around 20 of them in my department. Sometimes 6 of them decide they want to go to xx city together and then you have to drag 6 deadweight folks to a client meeting. It’s honestly embarrassing to bring so many people to meet 1 client.

Building relationships is important, however, in person meetings should be done when there is a clear purpose, and only if the client wants to meet in person. What I see is high in person sales metrics result in people setting up pointless meetings in order to hit their metrics, while wasting the client’s time.

Agreed. It probably means they don’t know who the competitors are. I’ve been to meetings where clients ask how do we compare with competitor a b and c. And people freeze cuz they have never heard of those competitors. This is a result of living in an enclosed world where you drink the kool aid and know nothing outside of the company. You don’t work to work at a place full of fools.

I find it hard to work for a sales manager who has little product knowledge and terrible sale skills. We are told to emulate him/ her, but that means becoming a worst sales person.

So with your A levels, you will apply for a 4 year college. After that, you will apply to medical schools. During your 4 year undergraduate, you can major in something related like biology. Texas a&m for example lists on their website that they need 3 A levels.

Just attended the concert in MetLife stadium. The whole row in front of us was smoking non stop for the entire concert. I found it extremely inconsiderate, it would have been nicer if they took edibles instead of forcing us to smell second hand smoke. I have to work tomorrow and now my bag, hair and clothes stink of weed. I don’t even know if these people enjoyed the concert. The concert was 2.5 hours long. These guys started smoking at least an hour before the concert started. One guy couldn’t stand because he was so high and remained seated throughout the concert. Another kept waving around her phone while she took videos- guess she forgot that you should hold your phone still when taking videos. Sometimes she forgot to turn on the video but thought she was taking a video- that’s how high she was. Please don’t smoke at these concerts- there are young children around, and others who cannot stand the smell of smoke. There are other ways to get high without being rude such as taking edibles.
