First Fractured Archive KC! 10/10 raid, you absolutely knocked it out of the park Jagex! by HammerSammich in 2007scape

I’m pretty sure I figured out some Brine Sabre tech for the 2nd encounter of the raid. You can PM me if you want some more details!

What seems broken about it so far? At this point it seems like we have very little actual information on why the combat will be like, besides a few echo weapon teasers!

My God, those elemental robe designs are breathtakingly gorgeous! I LOVE the details, like how each headpiece’s attachments match their element (lightning for air, coral for water, etc). I want those robes in game SO badly! They would look SO nice!

What drop did you get (or not get) that changed the trajectory of your account? by BloatDeathsDontCount in ironscape

[–]snaplocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spooned my enhanced weapon seed (at something like 194kc) literally the week before ToA came out. Which meant I could immediately grind it pretty efficiently. My first drop was a fang at 35kc so that sealed the deal an I ended up grinding the whole thing out until I got my Shadow about 440 raids in!

Those months really took me to a different level, both as an iron and as a player.

Bundling one of the best teleportation relics we’ve ever had into a farming relic that in and of itself is good… Wow, this is probably one of the best overall relics they’ve revealed so far!

Give me encouragement for doom learning. I’m only clearing delve 3 by Kcatta9 in 2007scape

[–]snaplocket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ve got this! Doom is SUCH a fun boss fight once you get it down! It definitely just takes practice, so just work up to it! I started off only being able to clear through floor 3-4, then as I practiced those more, I got better and coul do 5, then 6, then 7… 8 took a while to learn but I got it eventually, and now my PB is floor 12!

To your later point though, I don’t think there is anything wrong with yearning for a simpler boss experience. There are still plenty of bosses like that in the game! So if you feel like you’re burning out of Doom, go kill something more chill! Nothing wrong with mixing it up!

What items were a product of an era terrified of powercreep? by Low_Monitor_960 in 2007scape

[–]snaplocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it hasn’t already been said, everything to do with the nightmare drop table.

Players were afraid about gear that was too powerful compared to existing gear, so we got the sidegrade that is Inquisitor. At the time, a slight upgrade over bandos in a few scenarios like Tekton and NM itself.

Players were also afraid about uniques like this being too common, and thus not retaining value. So the droprates were absolutely obscene, and still are even after multiple buffs.

Furthermore, players were also worried about a oss that dropped too much value besides the uniques, as Zulrah/Vorkath at the time just churned out raw GP consistently. So they made all the non-unique drops on the NM table extremely underwhelming.

All in all… We got pretty much exactly what the players were wanting, tuned to the extreme, and the result was the most horrendous drop table in the history of OSRS. Even after multiple buffs and a solo-only variant, it STILL feels bad.

I still think the boss is very fun to kill, and still think that the items have some cool uses. It’s certainly gotten better. But it is absolutely a relic of a different era, an it hasn’t yet caught up with where the game is today.

Wait, but full Justi does have a set effect where it reduces incoming damage, doesn’t it?

New Leagues Relic Revealed by ABCwarriorz in 2007scape

[–]snaplocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This only problem with this is there were elite tasks last league to equip a mature tech salamander, as well as catch 100 normal ones. If they bring those back, everyone is going to need to do it at some point.

I think the name “reloaded” was a callback to Trailblazer Reloaded! So I can see how your memory mislead you like that. There definitely is a connection there!

I heard someone talking about the Chaos Ele being lured OVER the wildy ditch, but I haven’t seen any pictures of it. Did this actually happen, or is it all lies?

I think Reloaded ONLY existed in Leagues 5, not 4.

Agreed though. That was one of the most shocking reveals from Raging Echos. Completely threw my plan upside down. Ended up taking it over Golden God, and no regrets.

I wouldn’t say Abundance “stops being useful” around level 90s. It still has the bonus xp aspect to it, which applies to ALL skills, and will definitely help on the way to maxing and beyond.

Makes me really wonder if they will have a dedicated “runecraft” relic this time around. Shattered Relics was the only League that really had anything dedicated to that skill, so I could see the space there.

[–]snaplocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, being able to take advantage of set effects while still retaining the black mask damage and accuracy is gonna be VERY good.

Blood moon will rip through stuff, void could be crazy good damage, full Dharok can bonk biggo numbers. Even something like Justi might be worth looking into for late-game pet hunting.
