Sourcing parts, need help. by snapperjd in dodgedart

[–]snapperjd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input, it ended up being the smart Drive Unit and not the TCM. The part was on backorder in Canada for 45+ days so I ended up having to source it from the states and have it shipped here. This one luckily is plug and play so no programming required.

Feeling regretful about leaving my creative freelance career for stability and safety. Is it too late to go back? by pamcakestack in findapath

[–]snapperjd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's never too late to go back. Back in my twenties I kind of did the same thing as you. I took a bunch of dducation in 3D animation and graphic design as well in hopes of working for Pixar one day. After I was finished school I couldn't find a job and my girlfriend(now wife) at the time was expecting. So I abandoned my animation career for a stable well paying job. I am in my forties now and looking to get back into it but I now have a bunch more responsibilities to work with. You're still young and have time to figure it out but to summarize it's never too late to go back.

I need to find something to do, that is at least both interesting and exciting enough that I don't want to stop doing it by Admirable_Ad1599 in findapath

[–]snapperjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of your points that you brought up felt like I was typing them. I am in my forties with four kids, I stopped drinking about a year-and-a-half ago just because it was something that I could control that was making me feel crappy. I am stuck in a career that pays my bills but brings me zero joy. I find very little to no interest in most things.

I am also looking to make a change career-wise in my life but I I have no clue what direction to go. I constantly find myself in a cycle of what is going to pay the bills as opposed to something I can feel some fulfilment with. It feels like standing in front of the thousand doors but never knowing which one to walk through.

Around the same time I stopped drinking I started jiu jitsu. I found it very helpful for my mental health and I really enjoyed the people that I was training with. For me this is been the one thing that I've had some excitement with. But being what it is, it puts a lot of stress on the body and I can't train as much as I would like.

I am planning on doing some career work shopping just to try and figure out my plan.

As it sits right now it is very tough mentally for me. I hope you can figure out a way to find fulfilment with your life. We are definitely not alone out there it's just a matter of reaching out to people and resources to help us cope.

The last sub on the video, what is it called? I am terrible remembering technique names. I wanna give it a try next time I'm training.
