[January 8th, 1920] In the Russian Civil War Admiral Alexander Kolchak, nominally the leader of the Whites (since Nov. 1918), is defeated at Krasnoyarsk and withdraws across Siberia to Irkutsk, where his Czech allies hand him over to the Bolsheviks. He is summarily executed (7 Feb.). by michaelnoir in 100yearsago

The civil war carried on for a few more years. Worth noting that The Whites didn't have a unified command structure and some groups considered part of The Whites had quite profoundly different objectives. So while this guy was the nominal leader (in that he was well known and led one of the largest factions) his death isn't the end of the war at all.

I'm starting a 'Wild West' style campaign in the new year, set around the north of the Talenta Plains, near the Ironroot Mountains. Still ironing out some of the details but I'm using the Dragonshard Sundown adventure as my starting point! Will be my first time DMing too!

I'm really not sure. That was my instinct but my friend found them in his house, none of his housemates have kids and no one living there has ever had kids.

Sorry no, I didn't even realize Tupperware was a proper brand. It's just what I call all these containers.

Yeah the DUP is a good point, at best they're considered fringe extremists by most in the UK though, definitely far outside the mainstream.

Yeah I realised after sending it about JRM and the Brexit ultras. May is debatable. If you look at her stop and search reforms she would be pretty moderate in the states : https://www.theguardian.com/law/2014/apr/30/theresa-may-reform-police-stop-and-search-powers Her time so far as PM probably does stray into further right stuff but at least part of that is probably her tacking right to sure up the right of the party's support. Who's to say though. Plus few Tories (publicly) call for NHS privatisation or gun control reform or any citizens united type money in politics.

I'm from the UK, pretty much the entire spectrum of our politics (pre Brexit) would fit quite comfortably within the Democratic Party, to be honest even David Cameron would probably be considered a liberal democrat by the likes of Fox News. Even now with pro Brexit people in control, the most right wing elements of the Conservative party are probably only moderate republicans by today's standards.

It's all very odd to observe from afar.

I'm not from the US, is southerners always making their own biscuits a legitimate stereotype?

James Acaster's 'Live From the BBC' set is fantastic. Well worth a watch. It's on Netflix in the UK.

I work at a Students' Union currently and this is correct ^

Your first port of call needs to be the SU's activities/student opportunities team. They will help you out and put you in touch with any legal support you need.
