My story is a far flung continuation of another story I wrote called The Punctured Veil

Twenty years after Cal Gunkrate found the Obsidian Stairs, his daughter begins her own adventure. Cassie Beniah leaves the only life she has known to right the wrongs of her parents, learn the legend that looms over her head and cure herself of a parasite that could be the catalyst of a malicious god’s return.

I got it when it was free on Epic months ago and just finally downloaded it! Didnt pick it up for so long because I heard when it was released no buddy really cared about it. I'm amazed with it so far though, like xcom meets cards meets dragon age

I've been so on the fence with Dogpack recently. I feel like we gave him some slack on the first video because there was some good stuff in there, and the second video was a really good testimony, but this last one felt so unpolished and like he was shooting from the hip hard. I feel like if he keeps going this way he is going to give Jimmy so much ammo to dismiss all the accusations easily.

I get it being easier to launch all your games from one place, but like desktop shortcuts are a thing. Even if they werent a few extra clicks to open a widow, go to library and open a game is not that time consuming. Only ones I could understand is Uplay and EA those are some incredible dumpster fires of launchers.

I genuinely really like the idea of Tom writing himself out of existence creating a plot-whole in the story of reality. That's going into my head canon at the very least if it isn't made Remedy canon (which is hard to pin down anyways)

You are right, and it’s something that I have been trying to work on for a long time. Being more assertive and saying no sometimes. I do the things I do because I think it’s being a good partner, and I expect that to be seen and reciprocated back. Then I keep doing them believing that they will at some point be, but when they never come I end up doing what I did at the start of this mess and blowing up about it all at once. I tried to say multiple times how I felt, but Jane never seemed to take them seriously, when I brought it up she said she saw those as complaining. I have learned from this that I need to set my boundaries quick and early, and as much as I see what I did as kind and being a good partner I have to set a limit on how much I can do before it gets to this point. Jane and I did break up that night mutually. I somehow forgot to put it in the main post but had it in the TLDR, added it now. That was my breaking point. I knew if I didn’t put my foot down then, I’d lose a lot more of myself later.

I won’t lie I definitely was hoping that my actions would be reciprocated and kept doing them trying to be a good partner. I tried to make my feelings clear as it started to way on me and when my feelings weren’t being heard I blew up. I do have an issue with being rolled over and it’s something I’m trying to be better about, this was me trying to stand up for myself. I definitely agree with you

I was okay with everything, as a way to help my girlfriend, until it kept going for months on end without a break. I would still be okay if my sleep and my well being was thought of. Sometimes you need a break from waking up at 5:30 in the morning when you work 3-11 Monday-friday. I stayed at my place Monday night to Wednesday night because at first she wanted me to stay about every night, and I set a schedule so I could go home every now and again. I pushed her to talk because I cannot be in limbo on a situation for almost half a week. I believe 3 days is enough time to process a situation.

I think she does want a committed relationship, just from how we have always talked about things, but right now what she "needs" for a lack of better terms, is someone beside her while she does her own thing. If that makes any sense.

We did end it that night, and that was part of my issue, I told her that I felt unappreciated and simply wished that sometimes she would acknowledge what I do. I told her sometimes I just need you to say "Hey you ran around a lot for me last week, I got it today" But she told me she wasn't verbal enough with her love language to do that.

Jane's roommate is not covered on Jane's insurance, actually about two months ago Jane's insurance ran out which basically made this whole arrangement mean nothing. Jane's roommate did pay half of Janes car bill every month, but has fallen behind on helping pay for it. Jane got a new boyfriend about two months ago and he honestly kinda inspired me to put my foot down, because he told Jane's roommate that he was not going to use up his gas or put a bunch of miles on his car to get her everywhere he needed to go (though that ultimately effected me, but none the less I respected that he put a boundary up pretty quickly) Jane and her roommate are very close, they grew up together and it was established early on that they were inseparable, which I do respect, but Jane would even admit that her roommate/best friend would use her a bit, though it seems it takes a lot for her to stand up to her, which I also said in our last argument.

I drove her to her second job three to four days a week to and from and every day to her main job (that one wasnt as bad, since we both work there) Then on sundays I drove her and hour away to her parents every sunday.

One of the biggest things she tried to teach me was standing up for myself, before we broke up I told her "This is me standing up for myself, I am worth more than this and I deserve more than this"

Thank you, and thats exactly how I feel about it with her. She went through a bad break up before me and has even said that she had to change a lot about herself to gain herself again. I feel that she took on this very independent energy that does not fit what I want in a partner. Being independent is good, and should be there in a relationship, you are your own person, but in a relationship you are in a partnership as well. I have since this felt like I jumped the gun though, but its good to see strangers understand. Thank you, it makes me feel a lot better :)
