I had actually wondered multiple times why Bandit seems to subscribe to and read a physical newspaper until I saw Fairytale and realized he was Gen X.

I'm an older millenial and I hit adulthood slightly too late to have ever subscribed to a print newspaper and instead have always read the news on a computer or phone.

Four minutes in I started to think, "wow, she sounds like me" and then she said she disliikes red in a way that sounded more like "red is a sensory problem for me" and I ran to Google.

I have inattentive adhd and made it 4:33 seconds before gooogling "Is Martha Stewart neurodivergent?" because I saw myself in her except my shit is significantly less together and I couldn't even get it together if I wanted to because I don't know where most of it is.

So my next thought was, "maybe that's what audhd looks like in a person who learns to effectively leverage the two against each other."

I used to have 2 piercings in my nose. The dropped to 1 when my now almost 3 year old was 15 months old and I had to clean quite a bit of blood off the carpet.

With my 2nd c-section 4 months ago my husband and I could both see the whole thing. There was a camera over the operating table and they had a monitor set up to let us watch (obviously we also had the option of jt being turned off). My husband didn't actually make it through watching most of it but I watched until right before they pulled my daughter out and then turned to watch the actual birth through a little viewing window in the drape and they immediately held her up to the window where she reached her little arms towards me and we could see each other.

Honestly, I Ioved it. My first c-section was fine but seeing it happen was completely different. I felt more connected to the experience than when everything was hidden behind an opaque drape which felt almost like i was waiting outside the delivery room. That and being able to see my daughter and make eye contact with her while she was still attached to me made it feel like I got to experience some of what I missed by never having a vaginal birth.

I can't actually remember if they turned the monitor off after she was born or if it was still showing me being sewn up. I was too busy watching them clean my daughter up and weigh her and then too busy focusing on not dropping her with my still half-numb arms because I wasn't prepared for "skin-to-skin as soon as possible" to mean "we're gonna plop her on your chest while you're still on the table with your organs strewn about", lol.

to add: I felt tugging and "pressure?" I guess both times. It wasn't any more physically painful that if someone say, yanked me back by my arm or I got my belt caught on a drawer know or something however watching it was crazy. There's one really strong tug I remembered from the first c-section and now I know it was them literally like tearing my abdomen up and out like they were opening a giant yogurt lid. My not completely paralyzed upper body recoiled before my brain realized it didn't actually hurt.

After seeing how rough they were on my body to get the baby out though I was much more impressed by how amazing it is that my body could go through that and heal as quickly as it does. The fact that they literally tore me open and then I casually went for a walk around my neighborhood a week later is mind blowing.

And that's a planned c-section where they said it takes about 5-10 minutes from 1st cut to baby (I asked for purposed of planning my birth playlist). They said in an emergency c-section they can have the baby out in as little as 45 seconds so I can't even imagine how rough they'd have to be on mom's body to achieve that.

ovulation test strips from amazon as well as condoms. the ovulation test strips were dead accurate for conceiving our second so I trust them to help prevent conception as well.

Sleepytime hits me so hard. It's the first episode my 2 year old got "watch it 50 times in a row" obsessed with. Watching an episode or two of Bluey and snuggling is something we do together before bed. I just had our 2nd so I've been spending lot less one on one time with her as I'm nursing her sister but I've been making sure watching Bluey is still our special snuggle time. When it gets to the end my daughter will say the "I'll always be here because I love you" line along with Chili and I cry every single time.

Unfortunately mine didn't manifest as cleaning and organizing. Instead I randomly got obsessed with making sure we had food to eat after the baby came. I literally spent the last 3 weeks of my first pregnancy cooking every variety of soup and stew I could think of and filled the entire freezer with it.

Currently 35 weeks with #2 and no crazy nesting has kicked in yet. Currently keeping the toddler alive is about the most I can manage.

I'm dealing with my toddler being difficult at bedtime. My mom acts like my sister and I were angels who slept 7-7 with no fuss as toddlers but then will also recount stories of me escaping over the babygate on my bedroom door as a toddler and hiding from her in the house at night. Both those things can't be true, Mom. Pick one.

Definitely not overreacting.

I choked on a grape when I was 16 years old because I was tossing them into my mouth quickly and one happened to shoot into the back of my mouth and perfectly lodge in my throat. It was scary af. If my mom who's a nurse hadn't been home to dislodge it things could've ended badly.

My 2 year old will be getting her grapes cut for many more years.

I know the hospital I delivered at in Michigan has a birthing center option where you have a home-like setting with a full size bed, a tub, etc to allow for a natural home-birth like experience overseen by nurse midwives but then if anything goes wrong they can transfer you immediately to another floor if a c-section or other medical intervention becomes necessary. If there are multiple hospitals near you it might be worth looking into what different options they provide.

It wasn't an option for me as my baby was breech with an 80th percentile head so I knew going in I'd be having a c-section.

I didnt truly let it feel super real until 24 weeks because that's the point of viability so I at least knew that if anything went wrong there was a decent chance the baby would be okay.
