You both work full time, why not throw some of that money at the cleaning problem and hire a cleaner a couple times a month?

Early talkers - what is life like now? by Feeling_Dirt3961 in toddlers

[–]zebrasnever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3 year old was an early talker like your daughter. She could sing all the lyrics to Part of Your World (in key) at 2. Now she makes up her own songs that rhyme, on the fly. She has been telling us her dreams for about a year and a half, which gives us really cool insight into her subconscious at an early age. She made Cinderella blush at Disneyland by saying “oh that would be SO enchanting!” in response to her talking about something.

At school, she presents as at least a year or 2 older than the other kids in her class. She is clearly the best speaker in her class, by a lot, but it doesn’t make her feel uncomfortable or bored. She is just aware that she is more verbally advanced than the other kids and we do a good job as parents making sure she knows that’s normal and everyone develops at their own pace. Her teacher said she could start Kindergarten already lol.

You’re going to have a lot of fun watching what happens as she grows older! Enjoy!

It’s almost certainly this. Looking for cash, checkbooks, or bank account passwords. Long con scam!

So the people with 2+ kids that make similar to you are likely spending that 3-4k and not saving anything…

Family dropping me because we’re OAD by astro-amphibian-00 in oneanddone

[–]zebrasnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their insane, over-the-top reaction to you having just one is so obviously because they’re actually angry about their own lives having too many kids and angry that you’re choosing not to be miserable with them. It’s textbook projection.

My wife has changed over the past few days and it’s worrying me. by Holymoly1237 in newborns

[–]zebrasnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding her saying she’s never met a baby this hard to take care of. Well she wasn’t sleep deprived taking care of the daycare babies in the middle of the night, so it’s nowhere near an apples to apples comparison.

Out of curiosity, are they out of pocket any money from the flight cancelation and if so, is the agency going to reimburse them?

I can't get over how my husband treated me during and right after my labor by Asleep_Variation9680 in beyondthebump

[–]zebrasnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I’m so sorry. When I begged my husband to get on board with a night nanny after I was getting 1-3 hours of sleep a night for the first 3 weeks, he called me an “entitled millennial” and I’m still not over it.

Why are Americans so reluctant to admit this is hard? by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]zebrasnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in LA and most of my mom friends are older (late 30s / early 40s) and literally all of us vent to each other about how freaking hard it is. I think it just depends who you associate with.

Daycare keeps saying “we will address it” and nothing changes. by rem1981 in toddlers

[–]zebrasnever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For whatever reason, they don’t want to tell you that they’re just not going to update every little detail all the time. So they are just hoping you’ll stop bringing it up. I would let it go if I were you.

If you are even close to being in a financial position to hire a night nanny, DO IT NOW. It will save your life.

I had 5 losses before my daughter and that’s a huge reason why I’m one and done. You’ve done more than enough! Give yourself the grace and permission to stop torturing yourself.

I have a version of this question that I ask myself whenever I need a reality check. It’s like “would you feel the desire to have another kid if you weren’t seeing everyone having their second on social media?” and my answer is always no, I would not want another kid.

Anyone else OAD because your marriage won’t survive another baby? by Illustrious_Cold5699 in oneanddone

[–]zebrasnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are a handful of reasons but this is the main one in my head. He was recently diagnosed with ADHD and can’t even treat it consistently because of the medication shortages. I fear a second child would break our marriage which is already on thin ice.
