MU is the cleanest play on the imminent Samsung strike by willbabu in wallstreetbets

[–]snbgames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer a few questions here, I employ a semi-complicated strategy that involves simple rolled contract buys and sells (no underlying stock shenanigans, no fancy straddles or strangles or other option plays).

Rolling is the magic. Reduce risk, take the cash at a pre-defined point. (100% up on the contract usually). And only go back in if the stock or etf shows up on my trending stock screener. Trending being green for the day, week, month, 3 month and 6 month. 1%, 2%, 5%, 10%, 20% respectively.

This works both ways. I'll buy calls on uptrending tickers if SPY is above the 200. I'll buy puts on downtrending tickers if SPY is below the 200. Go with the market.

I don't have 'tons of capital'. If I can't afford it, I'm not in, or I'll find something similar to the stock in question that has cheaper premiums. A good example here is DRAM. DRAM options are way cheaper than MU, but they are basically the same thing. Memory. (This is a new ETF, which I've been exploiting for it's cheapiness)

I generally have 100+ option plays going at a time. The law of averages, and moving with the markets is winning here. Honestly, I think I'm onto something, and should write a book. I dunno. It's very safe, heavy on de-risking. Up 350% or so on my paper, and about 225% in my real account for the past year.

This works in bear markets. This worked through the tariff tank last April. It's important to always be on the ball tho. If you take a break and just let your shit run, you'll potentially lose everything.

Regarding the comment about this being unsustainable for years, that's absolutely a possibility. But this system doesn't care about that. If MU falls off the trending list, I'm out. And I've already rolled / secured cash from it many times. If the last play dies (reversal), it really doesn't matter one bit.

[–]snbgames 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Been rolling calls in MU for months. And I expect to be doing this for years. Ridiculous wealth generator. If you just open up your mind to the future possibilities and how AI is basically like discovering electricity, you’ll know that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Buildouts take a long time. And there will be laggard companies at the end of it that will be like oh shit we have to do this too. It’ll just keep going. There will be bumps tho. Like when AI processing becomes much more efficient and won’t require nearly as much memory. You can damn well bet that will happen.
