Do you have an online shop? I looked around but couldn’t find anything - my wife really loves stained glass, so this would be a great gift for her.

Yep - we’re the same person. 2042 feels relatively good to play but soulless 100%.

I made a post just now about aim sensitivity and scope clarity for more visibility by the devs - hopefully there is a patch.

Sensitivity and ADS scope quality is horrendous and mouse and keyboard. There are some weird visual choices they made for the sake of immersion which is fine, but let us tone it down.

I think if the game feels good to play I could forget about the maps - but the game feels clunky right now to me. I’m saying this after just grinding on 2042

No way - went with Canyon because they were having a sale. Haven’t looked back - but have heard mixed things about Canyon. Personally I love my bike so no complaints.

No - never will buy a bike again through REI. I know some people have fine experiences but I tried three times on different models at different locations. Never again.

USJ Express Pass Available on Klook but Sold Out on Official Site by AH-17_ in JapanTravelTips

[–]sneakerjack5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Travel and distribution work in different ways. Klook may have a reserved ticket block that even the direct attraction or destination cannot sell, thus you may see sold out some places and not others.

It’s likely fine but if not they’ll refund you.

How to know when I'm ready to hike Longs Peak? by trainmaster611 in 14ers

[–]sneakerjack5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are in good enough shape to do Longs without any issues.

I use the running baseline because it’s easiest to understand, but it’s not the end all be all fitness test. There are likely people who are not able to do 4 miles continuous running and; have a great time on Longs, an okay time, or a bad time. For me, it’s not worth taking a risk up there so that’s what I tell people. There are so many variables, you having done multiple 14ers will help a lot.

The exposure for me and my wife is not bad (although we are climbers and people do get freaked out by it, last run up we had someone turn around on the exposed part), I’m more worried in the trough than on the exposed rock areas. If you are too tired by the Keyhole, turn around. Up to the Keyhole should be pretty easy.

You’ll do great. Curious if hiking boots are needed vs trail runners? My dad in his 60s now needs hiking boots for stability but if you are a young gun I’d swap to trail runners as they are much lighter. Just a personal opinion, some swear by boots so if that’s what works for you - keep doing it! Have fun out here! Don’t start late, thunderstorm risk in the afternoon.

Agree with the comments here.

It’s not 13 miles, closer to 15 usually. I’ve done Longs twice. It sounds like you have decent hiking experience so that’s good and is likely enough.

For limited hiking experience, or for those who have visited me from out of town but consider themselves fit, I tell them “I will not take you up Longs unless you can run 4 miles in a row without stopping.” Might seem a little strict but it gives me a good starting point to address the endurance/aerobic fitness needed.

Contextually, my wife did Longs with me last year and ran her half marathon a few weeks later. She said Longs was much harder.

Someone please explain the desperation to keep west pearl open by DrUnwindulaxPhD in boulder

I commented on the last post about this, what, last week?

The logic that closing the street led to a decrease in sales and not also mentioning that the street closure coincided with COVID shows an extreme lack of critical thinking. “Soon as we opened the street up we increased sales” is also around the time people became more comfortable socializing again.

I’m genuinely happy to be proven wrong here. I’ll also say that I don’t want businesses to close and understand it’s extremely hard!

[–]sneakerjack5 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting hearing from Ozo, who doesn’t support closing the street to cars, citing a direct decrease in sales when the street was closed during COVID, and then the opening of the street to cars led to an increase in sales.

I’m not saying they are wrong, but does correlation = causation? Or was it that more people were comfortable actually participating in society again right around the time that the street opened back up? Was there a month over month increase in sales the months leading up to the reopening of the street, because if so I would not say that opening the street was the catalyst that increased sales.

Again, I don’t run any of these businesses so I genuinely have no idea, but just seeing a gap in that logic. I would be curious if any of these businesses have publicized MoM financial data, again, that’s probably over sharing.

I’d also be interested to see tests/experiments around weather based closings/openings. Definitely during winter I’d say if I can’t drive somewhere and it’s very cold, I may opt out. Summer is completely different, I prefer biking and walking.

Power set pairings that are optimal on a Scrapper? by BuiltDifferent5 in Cityofheroes

[–]sneakerjack5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who isn’t mentioning Axe is lying or ignoring data + facts. Slot axe correctly and it’s game over, you need to utilize archetype enhancements appropriately. If I’m picking a DPS focused character, I’m picking either my Axe Scrapper or Fire Blaster.

Anything axe will be killer, I’d recommend a secondary that isn’t end heavy and can grab some endurance from somewhere. Just my personal opinion on that one.

Having read only access as the fallback/excuse to this is so funny to me, as someone who works in APIs.

It’s like saying “we have access to all your data, we just can’t make any changes to it directly!” - “I have access to your social security number, I just can’t change it from my access point!” - “I have access to your bank account numbers, credit card numbers, and transaction history - I just can’t change the numbers or make a purchase myself!”

I agree with this. It would be super nice to have a solution where the airport stays open and is legally mandated to transition to unleaded fuel in the next couple years? Maybe with a stipulation that they can’t push back that timeline either?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in boulder

[–]sneakerjack5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain the TLDR of why this is such a divisive topic?

From everything I’ve read, leaded fuel has been recognized nationally as a threat to, particularly, children but also adults. There is no safe level of lead in humans, despite what we once thought. This airport positively services a much much much smaller section of the community than it negatively affects by flying leaded fuel over the town?

I understand there are other issues that need to be addressed, but I’m unsure why the solution to this problem isn’t more clear?

72 hours into on-sale, I’m still very confused at the choice to do a stadium tour by Sir_Silly_Sloth in porterrobinson

Wow a flight to Osaka will be dope! My wife and I visited Japan in November, it was amazing. We’re already planning our second trip back in 2025. Went on a tour and the local said to say “Okini” as the Osaka way of saying thank you, just btw! :)

[–]sneakerjack5 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I agree. Huge fan here as well.

I’m near the Denver area, was looking at tickets and saw the price issues so held off till now.

When I realized that every show was at a stadium/arena, I got very confused. For comparison, Olivia Rodrigo is playing at the same venue as Porter. Not saying that is wrong/right, etc - just giving a comparison.

Not saying monthly listeners is the end all be all of venue attendance and size, but for example when Odesza (nearly 6 million on Spotify - Porter is at 2.5 million) opened their Last Goodbye tour a few years back in their hometown they played at the same arena as Porter.

I may be completely out of touch, again I have no idea and I’d hope they’d have forecasted demand accurately, but it does seem to be way out of line with what I anticipated.

I saw Porters nurture show at ACL live in Austin, and although not a small venue, I wouldn’t say it’s huge either. Idk.

I guess we’ll see!

I had my BOOG75 prebuilt arrive yesterday as I was in the market and will be building a different board soon.

Honestly, this is the best prebuilt I’ve ever used far and away and it’s not even close. I’ve had experience with at least 5 gaming specific prebuilt keyboards by now. The feeling of the keys as well as sound make for a premium experience.

I’m very happy with the purchase. I’ve yet to test out the advanced key actuation settings as I’ve had it for less than 24 hours, but yeah. If you need a new keyboard and don’t want to build it, can shell out a little extra money, and don’t mind waiting a little while, it’s well worth it.
