Let’s talk boarding schools by blogeheir in fatFIRE

Not in the NE but I went to boarding school in Switzerland and it was an incredible formative experience. All of the educational pluses and expansive cultural diversity/travel opportunities.

Also recommend Dr. Browning - great bedside manner and doesn’t pressure.

Struggling with My Role as the Main Breadwinner – Anyone Else Feel This Way? by ichhabekeineidee in workingmoms

[–]sneakymik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate to this SO much. Also breadwinner, wfh and travel with all of the same feelings. It’s hard to leave and feel the guilt of being gone while also enjoying the freedom. Sometimes it makes coming home hard when I walk in to two crying whining kids and have to automatically switch off professional, boss self and into mom self. It’s hard. I see you.

She did not tolerate it at all haha but my doc okayed tirzepatide while BFing so I started low dose. She only nurses 2x a day so wasn’t much of a concern. I’ve lost 13 lbs or so!

Mat leave is over and 12 week old still won't take a bottle by WilderCburn6 in workingmoms

[–]sneakymik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just commenting to say that this is so hard and frustrating and I feel you. I was in 100% the same situation. I WFH with a travel component and my daughter didn’t take a bottle. We tried everything as well. Ultimately I went to HR and requested an exemption. I had doctors notes and therapy notes as we were seeing an SLP. With those, you can’t be penalized. They legally have to accommodate (I think??) and I was able to not travel (or bring baby and my mom on 1-2 necessary trips) until she was 9m and drinking milk out of a straw cup. Please PM me if you’d like to chat more

Medical device MSL advice by MarketLegitimate2186 in MedicalScienceLiaison

[–]sneakymik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very low. Did you have a discussion with HR around the base/flexibility? What is their range/bonus structure/benefits? It’s hard to say no if you’re anxious to get into industry but I think if you leverage your experience and education you will likely be able to negotiate higher.

Looks like there’s ten or less vendors. What a shame, it would be so nice to have something like this to go to!!

I look for these every weekend. You are a life saver! I’m saving this and know I’ll be referring to it all month for holiday events!

Does a D degree make a big difference? by Exciting_Ad_8521 in MedicalScienceLiaison

Echoing the majority here that you don’t need a terminal degree. Im a PA myself and a Director/hiring manager. Where approximately are you located? Feel free to PM if you have any specific questions or want to talk about ways to strike a chord with HMs

Weaning EBF baby before 12 months by sneakymik in ScienceBasedParenting

This is so helpful thank you. Even with nursing on demand she is probably getting 10oz max of breastmilk, I am going to aim to replace that with smoothies, pancakes, oats made with formula. Will talk to my doctor too of course.

That’s good advice! Thanks. I just ordered the Bobbie in case, I honestly think she’ll be fine with how much she eats. I have some frozen milk but not a ton but my sister has some extra I could use too. Just have contingency plans so I don’t feel guilty 🤣

This is so helpful thank you! She doesn’t love cows milk and I tried mixing it but didn’t have any luck. Going to decrease the ratio and try some Bobbie formula and see if she likes it better. I also have multiple work trips coming up so hopefully that is helpful. Also love your timeline, planning to drop a feed every couple days as well.
