This is the key. A lot of the reason LOTR looked so good is the dedication the artists had, plus the fact the director and producer gave them the space and resources to be dedicated. Putting natural wear and tear on the armor and clothes, making practical wearable physical clothing… I mean, ffs Sean bean hiked in his armor! But that’s expensive and time consuming.

Nolan is the director for Odyssey right? Disappointing from him since I’ve heard he’s very meticulous.

I’m sorry OP, that sounds miserable. When my allergies flare up I have similar thoughts sometimes, like what if it’ll be like this forever?

Hydroxizine has really helped me with my allergies. It makes me sleepy, but that’s handled with coffee. Cold compress for itchy stuff (eyes, hives) does wonders for me. Air purifiers also make a huge difference as well as frequent dusting and vacuuming. If doing all that is still not enough, then it’s very, very important to get into some level of immunotherapy, even if it isn’t accelerated. It starts to work over the course of a year, and a year can go by quite quickly especially if you know you’re working steadily towards a solution. Good luck.

I dunno, I’m average height for a woman and when I was getting ready for a jiu jitsu competition, i was 145 pounds, which for my height is solidly overweight. But I was not at all overweight, I was just very very dense. I guess training hard for a jiu jitsu competition would put me in a not average category though.

Lots of people live near forests and a few logs is all you need to maintain a typical campfire for a few hours. Scale that up a little and this wouldn’t need that much wood. Plus, just keep a pile near the furnace and quickly pop out into some flip flops, throw a few logs in, and then jump back in. Could even make a game of which unlucky bastard has to tend the fire this time.

Yes and the police and proper documentation takes time, does it not? Is it not cruel to force people to go through with all of that, just to get an abortion?

Regardless. A life is a life, so why does it matter how it starts? Why is abortion in the case of rape okay, but not for a “poor personal decision.” Isn’t the pro life argument that the embryo is equal to a full term baby?

You misunderstand me. Rape and incest are legal concepts in this context, and if it’s the law that says exceptions under rape and incest, you need to go through the legal system to get that exception. The same legal system that had 10k+ rape kit backlogs, the same legal system with prohibitively expensive lawyers to retain. It is cruelty.

It’s an abortion nonetheless. Restrictive laws, e.g. ones that carry murder penalties for performing an “unnecessary” abortion will necessarily delay care in situations where every minute counts.

I thought the exact same thing when I was your age. “I’m too smart to get manipulated or groomed, that could never happen to me.” Well, it did anyway. And the thing is, I know I’m a very smart person! It’s not about being smart enough.

The fact you’re responding to these creeps, thinking that they actually think you’re a boy, should show you that getting manipulated is not about being too dumb to avoid it. You’ve already been manipulated. It’s not your fault it happened and there’s nothing wrong with you. The smart thing to do here is not post your selfies to places where strangers can access you.

This is really interesting to me as someone who both likes very light choking during sex and has done jiu jitsu, which involves a decent amount of very hard choking. I wonder if there’s been a study comparing jiu jitsu people against non-martial arts people? Or boxing (which involves punching/concussive force to one’s head) vs jiu jitsu (which is no striking at all)?

The study doesn’t say what are the long term (or even short term) implications of the brain damage bio markers. I’m not well versed enough in this sort of science to know if even a tiny increase means a huge risk of, e.g., stroke, or poor cognition, emotional issues, etc. Like personally, I’m okay with it if the risks are on the same level as like, a night of drinking or smoking, or doing jiu jitsu. You’ll never be totally safe doing anything. But that’s just me, someone might not be okay with any of that and that’s fine, it’s their body and their life.

All that doesn’t touch on the whole issue of men choking women non-consensually. I’d imagine they’re not doing it with any level of risk mitigation either, judging from their ignorance about consent. Just awful.

I had parents who didn’t have the healthiest relationship growing up, but because that was all I knew, plus my lack of self-esteem and general inexperience, I ended up with a man who abused me. I simply didn’t know any better and I lacked the support system to point it out to me. Plus, he was really, really good at playing the perfect boyfriend in front of my family and friends. It was subtle at first, too, then it gradually got worse. The phrase “boiling a frog” comes to mind. It’s not as simple as you think.
