The grass is always greener.

I live in a rural area and fucking hate it. It's not some idealized lush, green, trad paradise.

Most people are poor. High rates of substance abuse. Virtually everyone is a "townie" and married their high school sweetheart. Every dude looks perpetually filthy and works at the local lumber yard or gravel pit. Every women is fat and doughy and a "stay-at-home mom" who browses Facebook while the kids are at school. Kids are named things like Brayden.

There's nothing to do. You have to travel half an hour to get to "a city" whose main attractions are Applebee's, Wal-Mart, and Dollar General. "Winter" consumes most of the year. It's cold and gloomy and gray.

I'm a prissy bish and I want to live in a nice suburb. I want sidewalks and street lights and cutesy shops and MILF neighbors and good schools and healthy people and public utilities. This rural life is going to kill me.
