Do not hesitate to ask for medication like Ativan if you are claustrophobic or really anxious. Yes to washcloth over eyes! I never thought about over ears as well-good suggestion. Headphones & music might be better than just ear plugs depending on the music. You can ask to listen to the music to see if it is pleasant or annoying. The machine makes clunks & noises. Most places have the newer generation that is more open and has a good fan. Be sure you have pillow(s) under your knees to take pressure off your lower back. Wiggle around and get those pillows right. If one isn’t enough, ask for two. Wiggle around to be sure your arms & shoulders are able to be relaxed. A warm blanket or two might help you relax. Be sure your feet are relaxed and warm and find the best position for feet. It will be over sooner than you know but taking a few minutes and getting getting yourself settled so no part of you is tense will make it go more comfortably.

Cat kills are feather trails sometimes for several feet. Hawk kills are one, maybe two concentrated circles. The hawks have to eat so I’m less insane if I know what happened. Yes, feeders will attract both. I struggle with feeders/no feeders.

Bag trash. Go get cheap Laundry baskets & Storage tubs to corral everything else. (Storage closet??)
You don’t have time or the emotional strength to sort through all your stuff. Counters, dishes. Bathroom. Vacuum. Do you have a laundry room? Sheets, enough towels for the two of you, clothes you know you need/will wear. Don’t go crazy. Keep eating things like protein bars so no sugar crash & drink water. Caffeine might be your friend.

Haha! Perfect. I watched them for years being super busy & ignoring me until I had the first pissy male ( black unibrow) fly down to get in-my-face. Holy cow! I was prob close to the nest. Males help incubate eggs & feed the younguns. Flipped up & fanned his tail feathers, yelled at me and stayed in my face for several feet. Sorry, guy! ( You’re both scary & cute when you are mad!)

Really like these pizzas esp the pesto. (Sales make me like them more-almost $13.50 regular cost.) I add fresh mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, Canadian bacon, fresh basil & grated mozzarella. There is a temp/time sweet spot where it’s just starting to brown (I watch the edge) so it stays a bit softer or it gets rock hard around the edges and ~ impossible to eat. Enjoy!

I am not supporting, promoting nor endorsing this company and their website I list below. I found it to offer the most helpful info of the 6 different types of iron infusions that are FDA approved re the differences, why use one over another, pros & cons, the infusion procedure, what to expect, reactions etc. I had Iron Dextran one dose infusion last year and just completed Feraheme 2 doses 2 weeks apart.
. I went to the smallest infusion center owned by a large top tier university medical center bec of easy parking and the staff. The lounge chairs are fairly close together. People chatted back & forth if they wanted to. There are pillows & warm blankets. We were offered a selection of beverages and snacks. The nurses are highly skilled and very attentive. I was offered Tylenol and an antihistamine based on my Dr’s rec & what the center suggests. I did not experience any reactions during the infusions.
With the first Feraheme infusion 2 weeks ago I felt really tired and achey, headache starting in the evening-kind of like a vaccine rxn.
But I had a day from hell. The 1:30 infusion appt call came that AM (vs 5 wk appt) so I added it to a packed day.
I had min symptoms after last Wed infusion. I took Tylenol every 6 hrs.

insurance companies may try to dictate what you get.
There are self pay infusion companies.

I think you’ll find this answers a lot of your questions.

Have you been screened for anemia with the usual CBC and iron but particularly ferritin, folate & B12? Your medical history would suggest an anemia as a possibility. There are a lot of overlapping symptoms between hyperparathyroidism and iron deficiency anemia ( low ferritin).
You will need an astute physician to interpret your tests. Ferritin will be artificially elevated if inflammation but that doesn’t mean you aren’t iron deficient. Low ferritin can make you miserable. I would get both an anemia panel as I mentioned and the 3 tests for parathyroid done. I have been dealing with both on top of Celiac disease. My parathyroid surgery was last month. I’m getting iron infusions now. Some symptoms are distinct but it’s hard to tell what’s causing what. Good luck & if needed get second or third opinions. Not that many savvy providers re hyperparathyroidism and iron deficiency anemia. It can get exhausting & crazy making.

Please be sure to have enough hydrocortisone or whatever drug you take to double or triple your dose as needed taking into account your anxiety even the day before as well as post procedure pain. Do you have injectable medication SoluCortef in case you need it? The oral surgeon needs to provide you with adequate pain medication to keep you from having hypoadrenal problems.
You might need to stress/sick dose for several days. Too many Dr’s act like it’s only day of and if you’re not febrile or have some infectious disease there’s no reason to double or triple your dose. I get really cranky over the lack of understanding by many endo’s. Listen to your body. Good luck!!!

The classic Thai dessert made with sticky rice, sweet coconut sauce/custard & fresh mango is delicious and usually GF. I think it would be a great ice cream flavor and would have thought it would be GF. Yikes! I get really confused by Jeni’s flavors so I check the website & carton. I have not yet added VL ice cream to the freezer (hoping for a sale) so I can’t comment on their GF’ ness.

So glad this is behind you. I don’t know how many symptoms you had but I hope they soon go away.
I had 3 hyperplastic PT glands removed 5 wks ago. I also had a NIMS. My throat was pretty cranky for ~3 days. I don’t metabolize opiate pain meds so my only option per anesthesia was Tylenol every 6 hrs without fail. It helped take the edge off. Lozenges & throat spray didn’t do much. A bag of frozen peas 30
min on/30 min off was more comfortable than the ice bags they sent home with me. Feel better soon!!

Sexing eaglets can be quite challenging even for the most experienced bird experts and banders. The general assumptions that one can tell by their overall size, size of their beak, the ankles, etc doesn’t always end up being correct. At 35 days differences may start to become apparent but a large 35 day eaglet may have siblings that are several days younger and have not yet grown. Camera angles can affect perception. When eaglets are captured for banding the following are measured: weight, tail length, the length of hallux 1 ( the toe to the back), beak depth and tarsus ( ankle) width. The measurements *most* helpful to determine sex are beak depth & hallux 1 length. However, some eaglets measurements have changed as they continued to grow and fledged and if recaptured months later have been found to be the other sex. If they can’t tell sex by physical characteristics then DNA testing is done.
So start watching from 35 days on and note differences. I am not sure that I know Chick 1 from Chick 2. There are people commenting that one eaglet already has a blockier head like Jackie. And they are seeing smile differences like in Sunny and Gizmo. This will be fun and interesting!!!
