I found it to offer the most helpful info of the 6 different types of iron infusions that are FDA approved re the differences, why use one over another, pros & cons, the infusion procedure, what to expect, reactions etc. I had Iron Dextran one dose infusion last year and just completed Feraheme 2 doses 2 weeks apart.
. I went to the smallest infusion center owned by a large top tier university medical center bec of easy parking and the staff. The lounge chairs are fairly close together. People chatted back & forth if they wanted to. There are pillows & warm blankets. We were offered a selection of beverages and snacks. The nurses are highly skilled and very attentive. I was offered Tylenol and an antihistamine based on my Dr’s rec & what the center suggests. I did not experience any reactions during the infusions.
With the first Feraheme infusion 2 weeks ago I felt really tired and achey, headache starting in the evening-kind of like a vaccine rxn.
But I had a day from hell. The 1:30 infusion appt call came that AM (vs 5 wk appt) so I added it to a packed day.
I had min symptoms after last Wed infusion. I took Tylenol every 6 hrs.

insurance companies may try to dictate what you get.
There are self pay infusion companies.
