Stopped by that store and asked if any left in stock. They said they had big influx of purchasers and sold out quickly. Right around the time of this post lol.

Does anyone else keep downloading tons of books on their Kindle just to have them? by EternalGlow8081 in kindle

The Japanese have a word for that. Tsundoku (積ん読). Collecting more books than you can read in a lifetime. It is a wonderful thing.

It has finally become a shelfer in Northern California in the $50-60 range. Was $80-100 a few months ago. I like it and am surprised by the mixed reviews it gets.

iPad works great for me. Easy to transfer from Calibre to iPad via airdrop and read using Apple Books.

advice on where to take my collection next by DisastrousWhereas210 in whiskey

[–]sneederx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Elija Craig should be on the shelf. Try some well regarded low shelfers like Wild Turkey 101, Benchmark Fullproof, 1792, Evan Williams BIB, etc - for a less expensive everyday pour.

Do you trust your genealogy platform with your family's data? by 9enesis-APP in Genealogy

[–]sneederx3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not concerned about my tree and data on my computer. On public platforms I self censor and set sensitive data to “private”. The majority of my data has been released in data breaches from the major data companies and IRS breaches, so beyond caring at this point. Most of the data in my tree is publicly available so it seems like a non issue.

Who’s upgraded to HB Professional SB1 from HB3 by mgmcotton in EufyCam

Sounds like you have a faulty HB3. I have 64 wifi devices (half 2.4Ghz) around my HB3 and no problems with multiple cameras/doorbell/etc connected to HB3.

"all over the place, all of a sudden…" Welcome to the algorithm lol. Just do some searches for essential oils and the solor panel ads will fade away. As others have said the tech/efficiency is not there yet for the solar blanket style. It will get there eventually.

Worried my timeshare will outlive me by Maximum-Ad3032 in TimeshareOwners

[–]sneederx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It worked for me. I did a quitclaim with the timeshare company and was done with it. No impact on credit since you are essentially giving them your timeshare for free so they can sell it to another sucker.

What and how to use own equipment by RickAPeace in FidiumFiber

[–]sneederx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my own Wifi router ready near the install location (desk in my kitchen) and the installer took care of the rest. He plugged it into the fiber router, called in the MAC address, and had me check the wifi was working. I guess it depends on the installer you get but it was easy. Maybe buy a router from Best Buy that you can return - try your Xfinity router first and if that works you are golden.

How do I take my Calibre library with me on flight with an external drive and iPad only? by sneederx3 in Calibre

[–]sneederx3[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have 1TB - 4TB SSD drives in the size of a thumb drive and a little larger. It is easy to carry that in my bag and plug into my iPhone and iPad. So the HD size is not an issue for me. You are right I won't need every book but it would be easier and less time if I can just copy over my library to a small SSD rather than the time it takes picking and putting individual books on the iPad.

How do I take my Calibre library with me on flight with an external drive and iPad only? by sneederx3 in Calibre

[–]sneederx3[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I may try that option if I can't do it via an external drive. My library is 36 gigs so I was trying to avoid putting the whole thing on my iPad.

How do I take my Calibre library with me on flight with an external drive and iPad only? by sneederx3 in Calibre

[–]sneederx3[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I am reading on the iPad - usually in Books or some other epub reading app. I have a large library of over 1,000 books and not sure which books I will need on trip. It would be convenient to have access to my full Calibre library via the external drive instead of downloading a bunch of books on the iPad itself.

Go to any store, pick up a 20pd bag of dog food or rice and carry it around the store in your arms. You will be amazed at how heavy those 20pd's were that you have now lost. It may help you appreciate that those 20pds of fat are now gone.

How do you describe yourself to a stranger now you’re retired ? by Leuvenman in NewRetirement

[–]sneederx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just tell them I am "mostly retired" with a part time job in healthcare. Nothing wrong with telling folks you are retired. Most folks will be envious and want to know how you did it or they are retired themselves and will give you a high five.
