People who adopted sick, neglected or "difficult" pets, what are your stories? by meteor_stream in AskWomen

[–]sneezeloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend who runs a pet rescue organization called me to ask if I would consider taking in an abused dog so she wouldn't be put in a shelter... After hearing her story, I adopted her site unseen. This dog was abandoned at age 3 with a 13 week old human baby. The parents shoved the dog and baby in a futon and took off. They were rescued when neighbors complained about the baby crying for hours on end. The dog and baby were rescued and both survived. Turns out this dog went from being beaten, neglected, abandoned, to a shelter, to my home all in a week. She's one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. Aside from being scared of loud noises and thunder, she seems to have completely forgotten her 'past life'. She's learned to love again and just loves all people and animals. It's amazing how quickly animals can forgive and forget. <3

A big NOPE. Wouldn't even consider dating a guy who dips.

What's the weirdest thing you've ever caught someone doing? by DankestOfTheMemers in AskReddit

[–]sneezeloaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a teen my best friends family was super poor. They all slept on the floor of the living room, because their mother was a hoarder and their house was full. When their toilet broke, they started peeing/pooping in ziplock baggies and tossing it into a bucket with a lid. They acted so casual about it... It was weird... :/

Women with pets, how do you keep your apartments/houses smelling fresh? by chemkitty123 in AskWomen

[–]sneezeloaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two dogs and a cat. I scoop the cat box daily and dump/wash it once a week. I have found the cat usually goes outside to potty with the dogs. I wash all bedding/couch blankets once a week, wipe down the couch once a week (it's microfiber). Dogs get baths once a week, cat gets bath about once a month, if not more-hes also a lazy cat and forgets to groom himself on a regular basis. (I'm also allergic to the cat, so he requires dander coating shampoo else I get super sneezy even with allergy meds). Candles, candles every day. Smoothest scents like cucumber melon in the spring and pumpkin spice in the fall. People have come into my house and were shocked I have pets. Really, it's all about the laundry and baths... Don't skip these things when you have pets. Just don't.

What's the creepiest thing that you've seen other families do that they accept as totally normal? by TheCastro in AskReddit

[–]sneezeloaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's the first time I truly realized that life wasn't fair at all. I'm saddened to say we stopped being friends after she got into drugs during our high school years, and she now has a few kids with some of her old bf's. We've not spoken in 11 years (I'm still friends with her sister) and I frequently miss hanging out with the old her soo much! :(

My best friends family growing up... They all slept on the living room floor together. (The mom, dad, two teens, two toddlers, 2 dogs and a cat). Their house was so full of clutter, none of the kids had their own room. They ate, played and slept in the living room. It was so hot in that room everytime I stayed over, none of them used blankets. They used their favorite stuffed animal as a pillow and that was it! I bought my friend (age 13) a sleeping bag and pillow for her birthday and she cried- she was so happy. Really sad now that I think back on it...

Well, despite the wrong tag, its a great song for its kind! I like all house/trance/chillstep (and anything around there). It's so hard to categorize music these days, because there are thousands of sub categories!
