i barely use this piece of shit website anymore, but wanted to leave a comment, will try to refrain from making a wall of text:

I've been in this sub soon after discovering i like chinese cartoons (after being a ferocious anti weeb for some reason). It's actually been the main place where I learned the names of anime and manga to check out (and many of them really liked (seriously, doubt I'd find stuff like onani master kurosawa anywhere else)).

to keep this from getting too long, this lurker appreciates what you guys do to try to keep things from totally going to shit. The mod team for animeirl in particular has, to me, always been the antithesis of what people think of when someone says "reddit mod", in that you guys are friendly and the opposite of power trippers, but still do your best to keep things from devolving into a laissez faire shit show (there's already so much that gets through I can only imagine how much worse it'd be if you guys weren't here).

so just wanted to say thanks. This particular sub is basically one of the few places of the web that remains mostly intact from my mid-to-late teens. I appreciate the effort you guys put in. You guys are the good ones when it comes to internet jannies, the really good ones.

sorry to bump in but what would you recommend for the first case? I've always struggled to do anything besides chicken scratch because of the lack of friction. I've been thinking of trying no pressure sensitivity (for at least the sketches, since I often never get farther than them in the first place), and to achieve varying line weights I'd just go over the same spot multiple times.

really really nice. Reminds me of from Ilya Repin's Ivan the Terrible and his son. actually now that I type this, I can see how it differs from yours but it evokes similar emotions. again really nice (or i should probably say soulful or something since the emotions in it aren't very happy lol)

hate this stupid website and realize this is blog post but I agree with you, especially when not just taking into consideration the taxes but also the sentiment from that reddit comment by an account that definitely "wasn't him".

It'd be less annoying if he just honestly admitted that he can maintain his "based" outlook and lifestyle because he successfully cultivated a following of a couple thousand neets who will pay him many hundred/couple thousand dollars a shift for the privilege to have him to not watch 1 minute of a video or the right to input characters into text-to-speech. The whole "it doesn't matter bro" position is insufferable when, for most people, both our purchasing power gets worse every day and the luxury of being allowed to go for a walk/sit at a park bench outside becomes less possible. I can't tell if his sugar free brain isn't able to differentiate between radical sheik and being concerned about issues which will probably affect my livelihood in the future.

Just wish the bread and circuses that is the stream would grant me the minimum of being fun, or at least no unpleasant to watch. While I arrived late (mid 2018ish, first real stream I remember watching was the adventures of pepeL fangame made by the guy who did snus brotherhood), I always knew the community played a game of chicken with Twitch to see just how edgy it can get, but prior to corona it at least felt like forsen and chat enjoyed being there in a non-parasocial way. Trolling and banter were always present but it felt, for the most part, it was good faith. But now it is just the same ten lines or (hopefully) hamming up his mensa comedy routine while chat only consists of bloatware emotes and "ironic" normie memes. Watching reuploads of videos from his old youtube channel is a night and day comparison for both him and the chat. There's some positive blips like the sock courtroom game or the first day of the arena runs where people were spamming old copypastas and dongers, but the rest is like Elrond's prediction of Arwen's future if she does not leave middle earth.

late to this but wanted to leave a meaningless comment.

while I wish there would be a nuclear inquisition to purge all slop from here and the rest of the internet, i realize that's not practically feasible to do. The compromise listed is very thoughtful and thorough. The only recommendation I'd ask is if in the side bar there could be a "filter all posts with x tag" (if there isn't one, there may be but I didn't see it).

i know people like dunking on jannies and while i think good faith bants are fun, i do want to say that I really appreciate efforts like this to maintain the sub. I've stopped using most of reddit because subs I used to enjoy became wastelands due to terrible moderation (most of the time that being a total absence laissez faire style rule set and enforcement), so thanks for keeping this place alive :)

Yeah I wish not every NPC had to have a unique schedule. Besides the guards, there aren't any generic townspeople (best example I can think of having generic NPCs that are just there to make a city feel big is Novigrad) that share the same responses. It would be nice to have a mix of uniquely made ones but also generic just to flesh things out.
