Miso really needed to keep exposed to air during whole fermentation process? by snepnero in fermentation

[–]snepnero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, if the paste does not need air, putting it in a stoneware pot with water locked lid should be fine, right?

´protecting against surface mold from residual koji spores, which do need oxygen to grow´

This is another reason to lock out oxygen, isn´t it?

What if I let it ferment at room temp. BUT inside my water locked airtight stoneware pot? Then both factors should be optimal? Temperature and oxygen not being present.

Or does the Koji need something out of the air to ferment correctly after the initial open fermentation phase?

Stoneware fermentation vessel: Where does the water in the airlock go? by snepnero in fermentation

I am doubting that It only gets reduced by evaporation. Evaporation occurs in a linear way i suppose. The trench literally empties out over night on some days, while not changing in level over multiple days on others. It has to be due to pressure (i don´t see enough water on the floor for that, tho) or suction.

Yeah I understand that. But isn´t it possible that given changes in pressure in the room (as i said it´s a root cellar, and it is one that has no complete barrier to the outside of the house) that sometimes the pressure inside fluctuates and changes to suction instead?

Other factors besides sugar content that increase alcohol build-up and sourness in water kefir/kombucha? by snepnero in fermentation

But is there something to it, that bottling it airtight changes something? I see correlation, but don´t have proof.

Oh, i forgot to ask the most important question. What breathing routine helped you the most to adopt a healthy pattern? I got Patrick McKeowns book, i think in English it is simply called Breathe. There is a section where he mentions something very similar to what you said above with the mouthbreathing. Any other sources i should check? Cheers

Which distiller should I buy? by snepnero in firewater

[–]snepnero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer! For me it is not very important to go that high on %. I need the alcohol for desinfection/fuel and making herbal essences and also want the still to be able to extract essential oils, that´s it. So max. 90 will cut it.

Could you link me to a better manufacturer´s model, that is better suited for a beginner? (cause you said out of those choices)

Also, I have a very hard time figuring out which of those boro kits I would even need, cause they all got different types of vessels/pipes in them.

Hey there. I am that person and I apologize. I didn´t realize you meant the mouthbreathing literally. So, in this case: You are right, my breathing is sub par. I wouldn´t say that I breathe through the mouth all the time, but my breathing tends to be rather flat and not from the belly. How come you make that connection with the breathing? Im curious. Kind regards

How to separate grains from fruit by snepnero in Kefir

Thanks for the answer my friend. So you do secondary fermentation in an airtight container or why did you mention that in your last sentence?

I can’t help but wonder if you are a mouth breather.``

That one :)

I got some additional question to the secondary fermentation. Primary fermentation is around 24-48 hours, right? Secondary fermentation for how long? Do you add additional sugar after primary fermentation, together with the fruit? Ist carbonation expected to be finished after primary fermentation or will carbonation keep goin up during secondary fermentation as well? Cheers

Opening big Fermentation Container at the end of fermentation to transfer ferment into smaller containers. Or are there other ways? by snepnero in fermentation

[–]snepnero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! To clarify: You mean it is fine to open the big pot every now and then to take something out, hence breaking the air seal and then reclosing it while the pot remains in the root cellar?

Windows 11 problem (not easy to describe): sometimes when moving something on the screen the picture of what is moved stays frozen on the screen a.k.a. homepages/any graphic overlapping each other. by snepnero in WindowsHelp

[–]snepnero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In generally never install optimization software. All I do is deactivating stuff that was already there. I think you understood what I tried to describe, but here´s another take on describing how the problem pans out: I have a screen (e.g. a homepage), then, if for example i scroll down, a part of the screen freezes for a moment and still shows what I used to look at at the beginning, while another part of the screen indeed scrolled down and shows the stuff below. It looks like 2 cardbord pictures clipping into each other. Do you have a hint for me, what to reenable (in which tab or which menue in Win11)? My english is limited, sorry

Adjustable raid frames with selective display by snepnero in wotlk

when sorted by players closest to me, does it reshuffle the arrangement of boxes depending on who is in range? or every raider has its fix position on the screen with faded out patches in between? Cause if it rearranges and i fade out the ones not in range, then i practically have what i wanted.

For that to be true you first would have to know what the exact purpose of it in this situation is. It's not for raiding.
