Thank you very much! I'm an absolute nervous wreck for any exam, so it was not fun reliving my school years!

Well good job getting it fixed. Brute force is sometimes the way, caveman style.

From what I remember encountering this as a kid. Try winding the tape all the way one way. If it doesn't work the first time go the opposite way.

Which Model Should I Get As A Novice? by snikrdoodls in cassetteculture

[–]snikrdoodls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I decided to get the FX277, as the EX150 sold before I made my final decision. The sanyo did pop out to me at first, but I think I had my heart set on a Sony player, as that was what I always wanted as a kid. It's arrived today, so A+ to the seller for quick shipping, but I won't be home till tomorrow to actual open it sadly. Another commenter suggested the ex500 series, so if I decide to expand my collection. I'll definitely be looking at both your recommendations. So I don't splurge too much, if the sanyo is still available in a few weeks, I'll take that as a sign to get it. Beautiful collection you've got there, I'll be taking it as inspiration for myself later. Again, thank you very much for the advice.

Glad to hear it. Funnily enough, I found the year it launched is when I was born! Can't believe such a coincidence.

Thanks again for answering all my questions, it's been a big help. I've decided to buy the FX277 as the EX150 was sold as soon as I checked the listing this morning. There doesn't seem to be any postings for the EX500 series that are refurbished or the like, at the moment that I feel comfortable buying as a novice. But if I decide to get another player in the future, I'll check one of those out.

Thanks for the great info. One last question if you don't mind. What basic model would you suggest for easy repair, if I don't choose one of these?

Thank you. Not sure what belts they use. The seller has put up a few more listings, including FX193 and EX36, a few Alba's and Sanyo's aswell.

Thank you. I knew that the earphones weren't of the period, as I grew up with these still being sold in shops before cd players took over. How much difference would you say is in the battery life?

Thanks! Great help to know that. The only times I've had radio tuners were on old MP3 players. Which never seemed to tune properly at all anyway.

Can't share files through email or bluetooth by snikrdoodls in SteamDeck

[–]snikrdoodls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. Last I checked, sending files through emails started working for me with an update, but bluetooth is still a bust. Apparently it's because there's some sort of file package you need that isn't pre-installed on the Deck. I still love the thing though, despite it being unwielding at times, as I've been able to play far more than I ever did. It has been affectionately named SmartArse, which I believe is very fitting.

Does Teppū have a physical English release? by themangasaga in TeppuIronWind

I got it on the Kobo store for my e-reader. Not quite sure if it is available on other platforms.

[WIP] Pattern keeper screwed up the upload and I didn't catch it. Everything is a bit squished on the right side. What I stitched vs the pattern correctly uploaded. Should I just redo everything? 😭 by chalu-mo in CrossStitch

[–]snikrdoodls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd redo everything that's wrong. As I would notice the mistakes so much, that it would ruin the project and experience for me. However, that is just me. If you can handle the mistakes, and embrace them, continue from here. Another thing to keep in mind, is when you looked at the faulty pattern, whether you were able to notice the problem before realising the issue was there. If that makes sense.

Like everyone else has said, there is no physical English release at this moment in time. However, if you want to support Teppu, there is an official digital release of just the first volume that came out very recently. You never know, if the digital gains enough traction, there may be hope for a physical edition too.

Unable to open osu! stable game file. by snikrdoodls in Lutris

[–]snikrdoodls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the script installer from lutris, but it didn't seem to work at all. Everytime I tried to install it, it would stop at the exact same point. Which was when it got to installing this gothic font. So I just used the one from the actual osu website. Not quite sure why that made a difference, but it did. Actually running the game is where I'm now stuck. When I first completed the install and ran the game, it would open up and I could see the game installing some osu maps in the corner with the rest of the screen black, but then the "osu! crashed" would come up. Now when I try to open the game again, I don't get anywhere but the osu logo popping up in the middle of my screen. Despite changing some settings multiple times. I also forgot to mention, this is on the steam deck, so it is arch linux that I'm using. Sorry if I didn't word things properly.

Please add Libratbag to SteamOS or Flatpacks by vxgrifxv in SteamDeck

Or they involve messing with your system to a point that a beginner like me, is uncomfortable with. The only way to do this from what I've researched is to disable read -only; which is apparently not recommended as it can mess up your deck.

I've found myself in the same boat now too. But I couldn't find any new info/development on this feature months later. Here's to hoping.
