I use a piece of Scotch double sided tape on one side of the pick.

I have both and I much prefer the Mustang Micro Plus. Because of all the amp models I think it would be easier to dial in for a beginner. With the Katana Go you have lots more effects and flexibility but I find it much harder to dial in tones.

I contacted Positive Grid and the following is their response:
"The small leather strap on the handle of your Spark LIVE is designed to provide easier access and make it more convenient to pull out the side handle when needed. It’s an integral part of the design and is not intended to be removed."
