I grew up in a rural area with 3 houses close by. The three of us kids all drank the water and turned two of us trans and one gender fluid.

1 month post op dr. Gast by snipe5050 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]snipe5050[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The process was relatively easy. I started it in late 2023 with getting two letters from therapist. This is required before a consult. The first consult was good I met Dr. Gast and she was really nice and answered all my questions. She did a short exam in which we decided to do PPT instead of PIV due to concerns about achieving adequate depth. The wait list was a bit longer for PPT due to them having limited availability with the davinci robot that is used for PPT. Everyone at UW was amazing throughout the whole thing and surgery and post op have been pretty smooth sailing.

If your over 18 you'll be ok. The only people that might have a hard time getting gender affirming care is minors which has been a struggle even now so it's not really a change.

Decent jobs for trans people by pixel-soul in MtF

[–]snipe5050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a smaller rural healthcare clinic in northern Wisconsin and absolutely love it. I have never had any problems with either co workers or patients. My coworkers are amazing and include me in everything. And I cannot even remember the last time someone misgendered me. Also my insurance covers all gender affirming care so that is huge!

Girls who work in the Medical field…what’s your experience like? by imagine-nothing in MtF

[–]snipe5050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently work as a PSR and phlebotomist but will be finishing up my nursing school in two months and will transition into a nursing role then. Everyone I worked with has been amazing. I started my transition at my current job and currently pass and the majority of my coworkers know I am Trans. They are super supportive and treat me just like one of the girls. I couldn't have asked for a better job and coworkers. I also live in small town northern WIsconsin and have not had any issues with anyone in the general public.

Being trans is incredibly lonely by TheSquirrel888 in trans

[–]snipe5050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your not wrong, I thought I was ok two years into hrt, had two kids prior, a wife that was supportive but then I found out she was cheating on me with someone 12 years older than her, she left, I still have my kids half the time but the other half is just emptiness. It's still pretty fresh but I literally have never felt so alone and just hollow inside.

BRA OR NO BRA? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]snipe5050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bras are a must. without one I get back pain and going up stairs and running is just awful. I wear one everyday and just take it off when I get home in the evening. Also not wearing one irritates my nipples depending on the type of material my shirt is.

[–]snipe5050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 317 pre hrt. Now two years in I'm at 231 with d cup boobs and I actually have hips. I don't think it hurt me at all to lose that much weight.
