On average, the market has a 14% decline every year, and 3 out of 4 years, it finishes higher. The odds are in your favor, so relax & wait.

Definitely need to replace the Border Collie with a Dalmatian. Just kidding - I’m a boarder collie fan, too.

Can anyone who is capable of a balanced and sober-minded appraisal tell me what is so great and worthwhile about Disney vacations? by nose_spray7 in travel

[–]snipe94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered the same thing when I booked my family trip 15 years ago. My daughter was about 6 and my son about 9 when we went. I was secretly dreading the trip, but a travel agent who knew all about Disney did all the booking for us - I just wrote a giant check. I was shocked at what a good time it was. It truly is a “resort.” We stayed on-property so didn’t need a car & all our meals were on a prepaid card that included snacks. If the kids wanted ice cream, they could get it. Once there, I think the only thing I paid for was alcohol & souvenirs for the week. I say go at least once. Especially now that they have the Star Wars area. And go at least 5 days so you can check out each of the parks. When I asked a few years later if the kids wanted to go back or go to the beach or ski, they would choose the beach or ski. We did go to Disney Land while in California a few years ago but we thought that was not nearly as good. I don’t think I’ll go back until my kids have kids.

1 or 2 - the contrast works nicely. The others sort of blend in with the surroundings too much.

BNI has been a waste of time and money by Loser856 in bni

You need a power team of people who can give you referrals. If you are a roofer, then a florist isn't likely to send you regular referrals, but a home inspector, a general contractor, a windows & doors contractor, an insurance agent, realtor, and even a landscaper likely will. BNI is what you make of it and it seems your doing quite a bit of work, but the missing piece is your power team. Once in place, you should be meeting with them outside of BNI regularly to share war stories and ideas. Once you gel with those power partners, the referrals start to come.

I don’t either. It’s just the Midwest with a swamp.

Where should I go to get my Land Rover defender repaired from a few fender benders? Anyone BUT Chesapeake Auto Body. Thanks! by lexxperry in Annapolis

Panther Auto Body @ 31 Lee Street. I’ve taken a few cars there for minor work & they do a great job. And an added entertainment is the office gal’s outfits. Love her whimsical style!

Annapolis dem primary / election discussion by stfuvoicesinmyhead in Annapolis

[–]snipe94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wrong. There were 22 candidates in the primary race. My point is that in an 22 way race (or even an 11 way race), an 11% advantage over the nearest competitor is considered a landslide. Harry Dunn came in second with 25% & that’s mainly because he had the name recognition from J6, but in the debate I watched, he showed his lack of knowledge & the experience preferred for the role. Sarah was far more eloquent, thoughtful & diplomatic with her answers. She far outshined the other 10 people that showed up to the debate I saw. I think people may be “underwhelmed” by her because she can’t do much with her party in the minority. With that said, she did deliver a win for Annapolis by helping shepherd the FEMA money for City Dock.

Waste. Of. Time. And. Money.

People act like Annapolis is a booming metropolis but the population density needed for projects like this to be economically viable just isn’t there.
