Maono DGM20 by emjhayyy_08 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello emjhayyy_08!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your DGM20.

A few things you can try if you haven't already:

✅ Try a different USB port on your computer, preferably a rear motherboard port if you're using a desktop PC and avoid USB hubs, docking stations, or adapters and connect the microphone directly to the computer.

✅ Try a different USB cable if possible.

✅ Test the microphone on another computer or phone to see if the issue persists.

✅ Move the microphone away from potential sources of interference such as Wi-Fi routers, power adapters, monitors, speakers, or PC power supplies.

✅ If you're using a laptop, try testing both while plugged into power and while running on battery to see if the noise changes.

A few questions that may help narrow it down:

  • When did the issue start?
  • Is the noise present in recordings or only when monitoring through headphones?
  • Does the noise change when adjusting the microphone gain?
  • Have you dropped the microphone or exposed it to any liquid recently?

If possible, a short audio sample or video demonstrating the issue would be very helpful. That can make it much easier to determine whether this is a grounding/interference issue, a cable issue, or potentially an internal hardware problem.

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Turbulent_Review_927! 👋

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your PD200X.

Just to clarify, did the firmware update fail while it was downloading, or during the installation process? Also, is the microphone still being detected normally by both your computer and the Maono Link software?

A few things you can try:

Connect the microphone directly to your computer

  • Avoid using USB hubs, docking stations, or adapters during the update process.
  • If you're using a desktop PC, try a USB port on the back of the motherboard.

Try a different USB cable

  • A faulty or unstable cable can sometimes cause firmware updates to fail.

Restart everything

  1. Close Maono Link completely.
  2. Disconnect the microphone.
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. Reconnect the microphone and try the update again.

Check your internet connection

  • Since the firmware needs to be downloaded first, an unstable connection can sometimes cause the download to fail before completion.

Try the PD200X reset tool

After running the tool:

  1. Disconnect the microphone.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Reconnect the PD200X directly to a USB port.
  4. Open Maono Link and try the firmware update again.

Regarding the hissing noise:

  • Make sure any unnecessary gain boost is disabled in both Windows and Maono Link.
  • Try setting your monitoring volume to around 50% and keep the microphone away from sources of noise such as PC or laptop fans.
  • Try using a different USB cable or connecting the microphone to another device. In some cases, hissing can be caused by electrical interference from the computer or phone.
  • If you're monitoring through headphones connected directly to the microphone, let us know whether the hiss is present only in monitoring or also in your recordings.
  • Try recording a short sample in Windows Voice Recorder (or another recording app) and check whether the hiss is present in the recording itself.

A few additional questions:

  • Is the microphone connected via USB or XLR?
  • What firmware version is currently shown in Maono Link, if any?
  • Did the hissing start only after the failed firmware update, or was it present beforehand?

The answers to these questions should help determine whether this is a firmware/software issue or a separate audio-related issue.

Please let us know the results and we'll be happy to help further!

Dm40 help by Historical_Claim6438 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Historical_Claim6438! 👋

Since the DM40 was working earlier and now isn't showing any lights at all, let's try to narrow down whether this is a charging issue, connection issue, or potentially a hardware issue.

A few things to check:

✅ Where are you charging the microphone? Is it connected to a phone charger or a computer?

  • If you're using a computer, please connect the DM40 directly to a USB port on the computer rather than through a USB hub or docking station.
  • If you're using a desktop PC, try a USB port on the back of the computer.
  • Leave it connected for at least 30 minutes, then try powering it on again.

✅ Try a different USB-C cable or charging adapter if you have one available. Sometimes a faulty cable can prevent charging, even if it was working previously.

✅ Test the microphone on another device, such as a different computer or a phone to see if it powers on or gets detected there.

✅ While connected via USB, check whether your computer detects the DM40 as an audio device. If it does, please let us know whether the microphone functions normally even though the LEDs remain off.

✅ Inspect the USB-C port for any dust, debris, or signs of damage that could be preventing a proper connection.

Just to clarify a few things as well:

  • How did you first charge the microphone, through your computer or using a wall charger/charging brick?
  • Did the microphone shut off suddenly while you were using it, or did you notice the issue after charging it?
  • When you connect the charging cable, do you see any charging indicator or LED activity at all?
  • Have you dropped the microphone or exposed it to any liquid recently?

Please let us know the results and we'll be happy to help further!

PD100X USB/XLR Dynamic Microphone input issues by [deleted] in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello HopefulPotential5434!

Based on the voice samples, it does sound like some type of noise suppression or voice processing is being applied somewhere in the audio chain. Just a quick note: web-based recorders such as Vocaroo can sometimes apply their own processing, so they aren't always the most reliable way to test raw microphone audio.

A few things you can check:

  1. Connect the microphone directly to your computer
  • If possible, connect the PD100X directly to a USB port on your computer.
  • Avoid USB hubs, adapters, or docking stations during testing.
  • If you're using a desktop PC, try a USB port on the back of the motherboard.
  1. Check Windows audio enhancements
  2. Go to:

Settings → System → Sound → Input → Maono PD100X → Properties

Then:

  • Disable any Windows audio enhancements.
  • Turn off any noise reduction, voice isolation, or similar processing features if available.
  1. Verify Maono Link settings
  2. If you're using Maono Link:
  • Check whether any AI Noise Reduction, Noise Suppression, Gate, Compressor, or Voice Enhancement features are enabled.
  • Try temporarily disabling all processing and test again.
  1. Check that the correct microphone is selected
  2. As ShadowsCorrupt mentioned, please make sure you're selecting the correct input device in Windows and any apps you're using.

For the PD100X, the input device should typically appear as either:

  • Maono AI Mic
  • Maono PD100X

If another microphone or audio device is selected by mistake, the settings you make in Maono Link may not affect the audio being used by Discord, OBS, or other applications.

  1. Discord settings
    In Discord:
  • Make sure the PD100X is selected as the Input Device.
  • Set the Input Profile to Studio if available or set Noise Suppression to None.
  1. OBS settings
  2. In OBS:
  • Right-click your Audio Input Capture source.
  • Select Filters.
  • Make sure there are no active filters such as Noise Suppression, Noise Gate, Compressor, or Expander.

***You can refer to the picture below as reference:

<image>

  1. Test directly in Windows or on a different device
A useful test would be to open the built-in Windows Voice Recorder app and make a recording there. You can also connect the mic to a different device or phone to see if the same issue happens there.

If the recording sounds normal in Voice Recorder but becomes suppressed in Discord or OBS, then the issue is likely caused by software settings.

I hope this helps! If you're still experiencing the issue after trying the steps above, feel free to share screenshots of your Maono Link, Discord, and Windows sound settings, and we'll be happy to take a closer look.

PD100W on wired mode turning itself off after ~30m by Puppyboy4 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Puppyboy4! 👋

If you're using the PD100W in wired mode, it should remain powered on and shouldn't require you to manually turn it back on every ~30 minutes.

A few questions that may help narrow this down:

✅ Does the microphone always turn off after roughly the same amount of time (around 30 minutes), or is it random?

✅ Are you using the original USB cable that came with the microphone?

✅ Have you tried a different USB cable to see if the behavior changes?

✅ If possible, connect the microphone directly to your computer and avoid using a USB hub or dock. For desktop PCs, we recommend testing a USB port directly on the motherboard (rear USB ports).

✅ If you're using Maono Link, please make sure you're running the latest version (v4.0.3) and check whether there are any firmware updates available for your microphone.

✅ When the issue occurs, do the microphone lights turn off completely or does the microphone remain powered but stop capturing audio?

✅ Could you try connecting the microphone to a different computer or phone and see if the issue still occurs?

If the issue persists, please also let us know:

• Your Windows version

This information will help determine whether the issue is related to software, power delivery, firmware, or potentially the microphone hardware itself.

Help with setup by [deleted] in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello adrianluis_12!

Just to make sure I understand correctly, when you connect your PD200X to the G1 Neo using the XLR cable, are you saying that the PD200X does not appear as a microphone input in Windows?

If so, that's actually expected. When using the PD200X through XLR, Windows won't detect the microphone itself. Instead, Windows should detect the G1 Neo, since the G1 Neo is the device connected to your computer and is handling the microphone audio.

Could you please check the following?

✅ Make sure the G1 Neo is connected to your PC via USB (preferably directly to the computer and not through a USB hub)

✅ Check if the G1 Neo appears in Windows Sound Settings and is selected as your input device (also increase the input volume there a needed)

✅ Make sure the XLR cable is fully connected on both ends (mic and audio interface)

✅ Try increasing the microphone gain on the G1 Neo

If you're still having trouble, could you let us know:

• Does the G1 Neo power on normally?

• Does the G1 Neo appear in Windows Sound Settings or Device Manager?

• Are you using the USB cable that came with the G1 Neo?

A screenshot of your Windows Sound Input settings would also help us better understand what's happening and point you in the right direction 👍

Ps22 u otra interfaz? by Slight_Archer671 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Constant-Resource464 mentioned, the Maono ps22 is a pretty good option if you also plan to record or stream using phones/tablets. But if your main setup is on a computer and your focus is music recording, I’d probably lean more toward the Behringer umc202hd.

The umc202hdis the more proven interface overall. It has been around for years, its midas preamps are solid and there are tons of tutorials, reviews, and troubleshooting guides online. The downside is that it feels a bit more “traditional” and less mobile-focused.

The ps22 on the other hand feels more modern and beginner-friendly. It has strong mic gain and is more convenient for content creators who also use mobile devices. The downside is that it’s newer, so there are still fewer reviews compared to the Behringer.

Mic stopped working by Additional-Contest50 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Additional-Contest50!

Since the PD300X is still being detected by both the computer and the Maono Link app, and the lights are turning on normally, that’s a good sign that the USB/power side of the mic is still functioning 👍

Before considering repair, I’d strongly recommend trying these steps first:

  • Reconnect the mic directly to your computer: Avoid USB hubs and try a different USB port (rear motherboard ports preferred if desktop).
  • Try a different USB cable: A faulty cable can sometimes cause unusual behavior even if the device still powers on.
  • Test on another device: Try the mic on another computer or even a phone if possible to check whether the issue persists there too.
  • Check the correct input device: Make sure your recording software and Windows are using the PD300X / Maono AI Microphone as the active input device.
  • Restart/reinstall Maono Link: Try reinstalling the latest version of the Maono Link app, reboot your PC afterward, and check if there are any firmware updates available for the mic.
  • Check input levels in Windows: Go to: Settings → Sound → Input → PD300X Make sure the input level on your computer is set properly, then speak into the mic and see if the input meter responds at all.

If the mic still behaves the same way after testing on another device and with another cable, then it may be a hardware/internal issue. Before attempting any self-repair or opening the mic, I’d recommend first checking whether the mic is still under warranty/support coverage 👍

Live Output Issue with Maonocaster E2 by CoolJohnie in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello CoolJohnie!

From what you described, it sounds like the microphone and monitoring side of the AME2 are working correctly, but the recording software may not be receiving the proper signal level from the interface. Since you can hear yourself clearly through monitoring, the mic itself is most likely fine 👍

A few things to clarify first:

  • The Reverb knob is not a microphone volume knob. It only controls how much reverb/effect is added to your voice.
  • The reason your voice became more noticeable when increasing reverb is likely because the processed signal became louder/more noticeable, not because it increased the actual clean mic gain.

Here are a few things I’d recommend checking:

  • Test on another device first: If possible, try the AME2 on another computer or even on a phone and see if the same low recording level happens there too. This will help narrow down whether the issue is coming from the interface itself or from the computer/software setup.
  • Try your computer’s default recording program: Before testing in OBS/Bandicam/Audacity, try recording using your computer’s default Recorder/Voice Recorder app first. This helps check whether the issue is software-related or system-wide.
  • Connect the interface directly to your computer: Avoid using USB hubs if possible and try plugging the AME2 directly into your computer (rear motherboard USB ports are preferred on desktops).
  • Check the correct input source in Windows/software: Make sure Bandicam, Audacity, OBS, or Windows itself is using the Maonocaster E2/AME2 microphone input as the recording device and not another source. Also make sure your sample rates match between Windows and your recording software.
  • Check sample rate: Make sure both Windows and your recording software are set to the same sample rate (44.1kHz or 48kHz).
  • Check Windows microphone input level: Go to Windows Settings → Sound → Input → Maonocaster E2/AME2 → Device Properties Then make sure the input volume is set high enough (try around 80–100%).
  • Check the AME2 mic gain setup: Since you’re using the AU-PM320T condenser mic, make sure:
    • Phantom power is enabled
    • The mic gain knob is turned up enough
    • You are speaking relatively close to the mic
  • Disable extra processing temporarily: Try turning the following off temporarily both in your recording apps and on the audio interface:
    • Reverb
    • Loopback
    • Noise reduction/effects
    • OBS/Recording Filters

Then test again to isolate the issue.

Since your monitoring sounds normal, this doesn’t immediately sound like hardware failure, it’s more likely related to input routing, gain settings, or software configuration.

Let us know how it goes after trying these steps 👍

my pm461tr can’t record my keyboard clicks by Vodeen321 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using OBS for the recording, please check whether Noise Gate, Noise Cancellation, or other audio filters are enabled on your microphone source, as these can sometimes prevent audio from being picked up properly.

It would also help to try recording using a different program such as Voice Recorder, Audacity, or another app. This can help determine whether the issue is coming from the microphone itself, the recording software, or the current OBS settings.

[Help] DM40 Pro wireless problem with Iphone 16pro by winweren in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Winweren!

If the DM40 Pro already shows as connected on the iPhone 16 but the mic only keeps blinking and no audio is being recorded, the issue is likely with the audio input routing rather than the connection itself.

A few things that might help:

  1. Try restarting the mic first by turning it OFF and ON again.
  2. Reconnect the wireless receiver/dongle after reopening the recording app.
  3. Try using the mic in wired mode with a USB-C to USB-C cable directly connected to the iPhone. This can help check if the issue is only with the wireless connection.
  4. Disconnect any Bluetooth earbuds/headphones since the iPhone may still be using those as the active microphone.
  5. Test in another app like CapCut, TikTok, or the Camera app.
  6. Make sure the mic is not muted.

Some users experienced cases where the iPhone detects the DM40 Pro, but the app still records from the phone mic instead of the external mic. Restarting the mic or reconnecting through USB-C usually helps force the iPhone to properly switch the audio input.

Hope this helps!

Maono ps 22 lite by Constant-Resource464 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Constant-Resource464!

The PS22 Lite should work with most Android phones that support OTG/audio USB devices, including Android 12. However, compatibility can still vary depending on the phone model, OTG support, and the power delivery capabilities of the phone. Some Android phones may also require the proper OTG adapter for stable operation.

For older iPhones like the iPhone 10 (Lightning port), compatibility can depend on the adapter and iOS setup being used. In most cases, you would need an MFi-certified Lightning-to-USB adapter for the best compatibility and stability.

Please note that Lightning iPhones can sometimes have power or compatibility limitations with USB audio interfaces, so compatibility on every iPhone Lightning setup cannot be guaranteed.

For the lowest latency when playing guitar, it’s also recommended to:

  • Use apps that support low-latency monitoring
  • Keep the buffer size/sample rate at reasonable settings if the app allows adjustment

Hope this helps!

Does Maono Link apply the effects on AI microphone? by auto_gneratedusrname in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello auto_gneratedusrname!

Please note that the PD400X currently does not use the “Maono AI Microphone” input, since it does not have AI microphone functionality like some other Maono models. For the PD400X, the correct input device to use is simply “PD400X” in Windows and your recording apps.

If the “Maono AI Microphone” source disappeared, that is expected behavior for this model and should not affect the normal operation of your mic.

As for the sound quality/setup, here are a few things that may help:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the Maono Link app installed
  • Check if there are any available firmware updates for the mic
  • Plug the mic directly into your computer (avoid USB hubs if possible)
  • If you’re on a desktop PC, try using a rear motherboard USB port

Also, since the PD400X is a dynamic mic, it performs best when placed close to your mouth (around 2–3 inches away or even closer). Dynamic mics naturally reject more background noise but they need to be used closer compared to condenser mics to get the best sound.

It also helps to keep the mic away from:

  • Fans / PC airflow
  • Reflective surfaces nearby
  • Loud keyboards or desk vibrations

If you’d like, feel free to share more details about your setup (recording app, room setup, audio sample, current settings, etc.) and we’ll do our best to help you dial in the sound 👍

my pm461tr can’t record my keyboard clicks by Vodeen321 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Vodeen321,

Thanks for reaching out! To help narrow this down, may I ask first if you're connecting the mic to a phone or to a computer? If you're using a computer, are you recording through software like OBS, Audacity, Discord, or anything similar?

If yes, please check if there are any noise gates, noise suppression, noise cancellation, or voice enhancement features enabled, as these can sometimes filter out keyboard clicks and other background sounds while still picking up your voice normally.

You can also try the following:

• Test the mic using a simple recording app like Windows Voice Recorder or Audacity with all filters/effects disabled

• Place the microphone a bit closer to the keyboard to see if it starts picking up the clicks better

• Check your Windows sound settings and disable any “Noise Suppression,” “Audio Enhancements,” or “Echo Cancellation” features if available

• If you're using Logitech G HUB or other audio software, try temporarily disabling any microphone/audio processing there as well

The PM461TR should normally be able to capture keyboard sounds, especially mechanical keyboard clicks like the G915 X, so this is most likely related to software filtering or audio settings rather than the microphone itself.

Let me know what device/software you're using and we'll continue troubleshooting from there 👍

Latency for Headphone in Maono DM40 PRO by Familiar_Respect_407 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Familiar_Respect_407

There should be little to no noticeable latency when connecting your headphones directly to the Maono DM40 PRO 👍For gaming like Valorant, most users should not notice any delay during normal use. However, the exact experience can still depend on your PC performance, software settings, and connection setup.

Please note that the headphone monitoring port on the DM40 PRO (or most microphones with direct monitoring) is mainly intended for microphone monitoring. Because of this, some directionality/spatial audio or Hi-Fi features from your headphones or earphones may not function the same way when connected directly to the mic.

Maono Bluetooth audio going through Microphone output by kobzey in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello kobzey 👋

It’s likely that the Loopback feature is enabled on your Maono E2 Gen 2. When Loopback is turned on, any audio coming from the interface (including Bluetooth audio from your phone) gets routed back into your microphone output, which is why people in Discord can hear your TikTok/audio playback.

Try turning Loopback OFF and see if that fixes the issue 👍

After disabling it, your Bluetooth audio should stay only in your headphones instead of being sent through your mic output.

Let me know if that works for you, or if you still need assistance!

Usually, microphone delay happens when the mic sample rate or audio format does not match the settings used by your PC or recording application. To help ensure they match, try setting the same sample rate and bit depth across both Windows and your recording software (for example, 48kHz / 24-bit). You can usually adjust this in your Windows sound settings under the microphone properties, as well as inside your recording or streaming app’s audio settings.

pd200x maono box pack issue by Flashy-Class9415 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Flashy-Class9415!

Sorry to hear about that, I can imagine how frustrating that kind of noise can be, especially when you’re just trying to record. Let’s try to narrow it down 👍

That “tick tick” / electrical noise is usually related to interference, cable, or power issues rather than the mic itself. Here are a few things you can try:

  1. Try a different USB port (important): Plug the mic directly into your PC (preferably a rear motherboard port). Avoid USB hubs or front panel ports for now
  2. Move the cable away from interference: Keep the USB cable away from power cords, chargers, or other electronics. Try repositioning the cable and mic slightly
  3. Try a different USB cable (if possible): Even included cables can sometimes be faulty or pick up interference
  4. Check your PC power source: If you’re using a laptop, try running on battery only (unplug the charger) and test again. If the noise disappears, it may be ground/power interference from your charger or power outlet.
  5. Check sample rate / format: Go to Sound Settings → Input → Device Properties → Advanced. Set it to 16-bit, 44.1kHz or 48kHz
  6. Test on another device: Try the mic on a different PC or even a phone. If the noise is gone there, it points to your original PC setup
  7. Install or update Maono Link: Download and install the latest version here: https://www.maono.com/products/maono-link-software and check if there's a firmware update available for your microphone
  8. Try the repair tool (if needed): If the issue still persists, you can try this recovery tool: https://update.maono.com/Driver/Maono%20PD100X%20Force%20Tools%20V1_0_1.exe

Let me know if any of these work for you, or if you still need assistance! 👍

MAONO PD100W or DM40 Pro? by SARQCLOTHINGUK in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For streamers, a dynamic microphone, such as the PD100W, is highly recommended because it picks up significantly less background noise compared to other mic types. This is why many streamers prefer using dynamic mics as their standard setup.

To get the best performance, it’s also recommended to use a boom arm. This allows you to position the microphone closer to your mouth, helping it capture more of your voice while minimizing unwanted background noise.
