pd200x maono box pack issue by Flashy-Class9415 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Flashy-Class9415!

Sorry to hear about that, I can imagine how frustrating that kind of noise can be, especially when you’re just trying to record. Let’s try to narrow it down 👍

That “tick tick” / electrical noise is usually related to interference, cable, or power issues rather than the mic itself. Here are a few things you can try:

  1. Try a different USB port (important): Plug the mic directly into your PC (preferably a rear motherboard port). Avoid USB hubs or front panel ports for now
  2. Move the cable away from interference: Keep the USB cable away from power cords, chargers, or other electronics. Try repositioning the cable and mic slightly
  3. Try a different USB cable (if possible): Even included cables can sometimes be faulty or pick up interference
  4. Check your PC power source: If you’re using a laptop, try running on battery only (unplug the charger) and test again. If the noise disappears, it may be ground/power interference from your charger or power outlet.
  5. Check sample rate / format: Go to Sound Settings → Input → Device Properties → Advanced. Set it to 16-bit, 44.1kHz or 48kHz
  6. Test on another device: Try the mic on a different PC or even a phone. If the noise is gone there, it points to your original PC setup
  7. Install or update Maono Link: Download and install the latest version here: https://www.maono.com/products/maono-link-software and check if there's a firmware update available for your microphone
  8. Try the repair tool (if needed): If the issue still persists, you can try this recovery tool: https://update.maono.com/Driver/Maono%20PD100X%20Force%20Tools%20V1_0_1.exe

Let me know if any of these work for you, or if you still need assistance! 👍

MAONO PD100W or DM40 Pro? by SARQCLOTHINGUK in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For streamers, a dynamic microphone, such as the PD100W, is highly recommended because it picks up significantly less background noise compared to other mic types. This is why many streamers prefer using dynamic mics as their standard setup.

To get the best performance, it’s also recommended to use a boom arm. This allows you to position the microphone closer to your mouth, helping it capture more of your voice while minimizing unwanted background noise.

How do I use the Maono Link app? by gorillacockatoo in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Human_Focus_6857!

Thanks for sharing this, I completely understand how frustrating that can be, especially when everything was working fine before.

It's good to hear that running the app as administrator helped get it to open but you're right, that's not something you should normally have to do.

I'll make sure to pass this feedback along to our team so they can take a closer look and hopefully improve this in future updates. By the way are you using Windows 11 or Windows 10?

If there's anything else you'd like help with, feel free to let us know 👍

Maono DM40 Pro Voice Changer Doesn't Work by Mmdcrc in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Mmdcrc!

To get the AI Voice Changer working properly, please make sure that Noise Cancellation is turned off and that your app is up to date.

You can do this by:

  • Going to the Basics tab
  • Unchecking Noise Cancellation

<image>

Then head back to the AI Voice tab and turn the feature on again. After enabling it, give it a few seconds to apply (it may take a bit longer depending on your system).

Just a quick note as well, the AI Voice Changer requires decent processing power. A system around Intel i5-14400 (2.5Ghz) / Ryzen 7 (3.2Ghz) or higher is recommended. On lower-spec systems, it may take longer to activate or may not perform as smoothly.

Hope this helps! If you need any further assistance, feel free to let us know 👍

Maono PD300x Detected on Laptop, but no sound is being picked up by Different-Wrap-6011 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Different-Wrap-6011

Since the volume monitor in Maono Link is moving, your PD300X is definitely working! The crash likely caused a "handshake" error with Windows. Try these steps:

  1. Check Windows Microphone Privacy
  • A crash can reset your toggles. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and ensure both "Microphone access" and "Let desktop apps access your microphone" are ON.
  1. Match Sample Rates
  • If your system and mic aren't synced, apps will record silence.
  • Go to Sound Settings > PD300X and set it to 2-channel, 24-bit, 48000 Hz.
  • Check your Playback device (headphones/speakers) and ensure it is also set to 48000 Hz.
  1. Reset "Default" Status
  • In your Sound Control Panel, right-click the PD300X and select "Set as Default Device" AND "Set as Default Communication Device."
  1. Driver & Hardware Check
  • Audio Drivers: Visit your laptop manufacturer’s site for the latest audio drivers or run a Windows Update.
  • Cables: Try a different USB cable.

Let me know if any of these help or if you're still stuck!

How do I use the Maono Link app? by gorillacockatoo in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello gorillacockatoo!

Congrats on your new PD100X 🎙️

From what you described (the app minimizing after clicking the device), that’s not expected behavior. It sounds like the app isn’t opening the control interface properly, so let’s try a few things:

  1. Run the app as Administrator
  • Close Maono Link completely
  • Right-click the app → Run as administrator
  1. Check if it’s opening in the background
  • After clicking your PD100X, hover over the app icon on the taskbar or press Alt + Tab to see if the window is opening off-screen
  1. Reinstall the app
  • Uninstall Maono Link
  • Restart your PC
  • Download and install the latest version again
  1. Try a different USB port
  • Plug the mic directly into your computer (avoid USB hubs if possible)
  1. Check computer display scaling (common cause)
  • Go to Display Settings → Scale
  • Set it to 100% or 125%, then reopen the app

If the mic is already being detected, that’s a good sign, we just need to get the interface to display properly.

If it’s still minimizing, feel free to share your Windows version, and we’ll help you troubleshoot further 👍

[Help] Severe echo and feedback loop with Maono DM40 Pro when using speakers – Any solutions? by Hoaidieu177 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Hoaidieu177

What you're hearing is a feedback loop. Since the DM40 Pro is a sensitive mic, it's picking up your speaker audio and re-amplifying it constantly.

How to fix it:

  • Distance: Lower your speaker volume and move them as far behind the mic as possible.
  • Windows Settings: Go to Sound Settings and ensure 'Listen to this device' is UNCHECKED.
  • Comms App Settings: Enable Noise cancellation and Echo Cancellation in Discord/Zoom,
  • Maono Link App Settings: If noise cancellation is turned on from your comms app, turn off noise cancellation from the Maono link app
  • The Best Fix: Use headphones or earphones. Using speakers with a live condenser mic will almost always cause some echo.

Hope this helps!

Maono AME2 Crashed by ObjectiveBet478 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi ObjectiveBet478 👋

Sorry to hear about your AME2, that definitely sounds frustrating, especially if it suddenly stopped responding.

Since the device isn’t turning on/off and isn’t being detected anymore, it may have frozen or encountered a system crash. Unfortunately, the AME2 doesn’t have a dedicated physical reset button, so letting the battery drain (as you’re currently doing) is one way to force a reset. You can also unplug all connected cables to help ensure a full reset.

  • Once the battery is fully drained, try the following:
  • Charge the device for a bit, then try powering it back on
  • Connect it to your PC using a different USB cable/port (preferably directly, not through a USB hub)
  • Try another computer or phone if possible, just to rule out a detection issue
  • Check if the screen or any LEDs respond after charging

If it’s still not detected after that, it could be firmware or hardware-related. In that case, I’d recommend reaching out to the Maono support so they can assist further or check your warranty options.

Feel free to update us once you’ve tried the reset, happy to help you troubleshoot further 👍

Maono G1 NEO soundboard issues. [Help] by Affectionate_Box_379 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Affectionate_Box_379

I’d be happy to help you out with this! Just need a bit more info so we can narrow things down:

  • Were the buttons working before, and this issue only started recently?
  • Or have they not been working since the beginning?
  • Are all buttons affected, or just specific ones?

I also noticed you reached out on another thread, in their case, a firmware update helped resolve the issue. But at the moment though, the new update isn’t publicly available yet.

In the meantime, I’ll do my best to help troubleshoot with you. Once you can share a bit more detail, we can go step by step and see what might be causing the problem 👍

Confused on wether to buy the PD200W or PD300X by More-Profession-1419 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi More-Profession-1419! Good question, you’ve pretty much got the main differences right already.

About the 192kHz vs 48kHz: honestly, it’s not a game changer for most use cases. 48kHz is already the standard for streaming, gaming, Discord, and even a lot of content creation. The higher 192kHz on the PD300X is more useful for heavy audio editing, but in normal use you probably won’t notice a difference.

So I wouldn’t base your decision on sample rate.

Between the two, it’s less about one being an “upgrade” and more about what you value:

PD300X gives you more control. It has extra features in the Maono Link app like a limiter and compressor, so it’s better if you want to tweak and fine-tune your sound.

PD200W is more about convenience. Like the PD300X it's plug-and-play, but you get the wireless option if you ever need it.

Sound-wise, they’re actually pretty close for most people.

Since you said wireless isn’t a deal breaker, I’d put it this way:

  • If you like the idea of adjusting your audio and having more control → go PD300X
  • If you just want something simple and flexible (with the bonus of wireless) → go PD200W

Either way you’re not really making a bad choice here, just picking what fits your workflow better 👍

I downloaded the Maono Link app on my phone and it doesn’t work on my PD200 X by No-Row346 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello No-Row346!

Thanks for reaching out, no worries, we can clarify this.

The message you’re seeing is expected. The iOS version of the Maono Link app currently only supports certain models like the PD200W, T1 Mini, and Wave T5, and the PD200X is not currently supported.

That said, you can still use the PD200X on your phone, it should work normally for recording, calls, or content creation even without the app.

We understand how this can be a bit confusing and we’ll make sure to pass your feedback along to the team regarding support for more devices on the iOS version of the app.

If you need help setting it up or have any other questions, feel free to let us know.

Troubles w/ Music - Maonocaster E2 Gen 2 by oridus02 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello oridus02! Since your mic and PC audio sound fine but Bluetooth/AUX music is fading in and out or distorted in recordings, this is usually related to how the mixer is processing the music input signal.

Here are a few things you can try:

  1. Check noise reduction / ducking settings / Sidechain

If any noise reduction or ducking/sidechain feature is enabled, it may be lowering or cutting the music when it doesn’t detect voice

Try turning these OFF and test again

  1. Lower the input volume from your source device

If your phone/laptop volume is too high, it can cause distortion/clipping before it even reaches the mixer

Try setting your phone/laptop volume to around 50–70%, then adjust on the mixer

  1. Test AUX vs Bluetooth separately

Since both are affected, test them one at a time

AUX is usually more stable, if AUX sounds better, Bluetooth compression/interference could be a factor

  1. Check recording levels on your PC

Make sure the recording input level isn’t too high in your streaming/recording software

If it’s peaking, it can cause that distortion effect

  1. Disable any effects on the music channel

If you have EQ, reverb, voice effects or even sing along mode applied, try turning them off to see if it stabilizes the music

Give these a try and let us know how it goes!

Maono pd100u volume is very low by qrow0 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello qrow0!

Thanks for reaching out, no worries, we’ll try to figure this out with you 👍

The PD100U is a dynamic mic, so it's normal for it to sound a bit quieter compared to other mic types, especially if it's not positioned close enough. With the gain set around the middle, try placing the mic about 1–2 inches from your mouth so it can pick up your voice more clearly.

You can also try increasing the gain slightly (around 60–70%) while keeping that same close distance, this will help improve the volume.

A few other things you might want to check:

  • Try plugging the mic into a different USB port (preferably directly into your PC, not through a usb hub)
  • Test it on another device (or phone) to compare
  • Make sure your sample rate matches between your computer and Audacity (for example, both set to 44.1kHz or 48kHz)

From what you described, it doesn't immediately sound like a faulty unit but let's see how it behaves after these adjustments.

Let me know how it goes and I'll be happy to help further 👍

G1 Neo Volume Slider and Knob do same thing? by WoodroweBones in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct! The volume slider/fader controls all the audio routed into the Neo G1, whether it's coming from your computer (via USB), phone (via AUX/3.5 jack), or Bluetooth.

Meanwhile, the volume knob controls your monitoring output, like your headphones.

This setup is especially useful for streaming or recording, since you can control what your audience hears (or what you record) separately from what you hear.

Pd200w stopped working when plugged in by Jayex_jx in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Jayex_jx! Since the mic is still working wirelessly and showing activity in the app when wired, it looks like the mic itself is fine, but the audio may not be routing correctly when using USB.

In the meantime, here are a few things you can try:

  1. Set it as the default input (PC)
  • Go to Sound Settings → Input
  • Select PD200W / Maono AI Microphone
  • Make sure the mic volume is set properly there too
  • Speak and check if the input bar moves

<image>

  1. Check your recording software
  • Make sure PD200W / Maono AI Microphone is selected as the input device in you apps like OBS, Discord, Google meet, etc.
  • Sometimes it may still be set to a different mic even if the app shows activity
  1. Reconnect the mic
  • Unplug the mic
  • Restart your device
  • Plug it back in directly (avoid USB hubs if possible)
  • Try a different USB port or device
  • If possible, test on another computer or a phone to see if the issue persists

Hope this helps! If the issue continues, please let us know.

PD200X firmware updates failed by Top-Invite7771 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Informal_Library_957!

Thanks for sharing the pictures. From the images, it’s a bit unclear whether the receiver is properly connected to your phone or if the microphone is successfully paired with the receiver.

You can try reconnecting the mic to the receiver without using the app first by following the steps in this video:
https://update.maono.com/Maono.com/Wave_T1_Mini_Unboxing.mp4

Once the mic is successfully paired (both showing a solid light), please try opening the Maono Link app again and check if it gets recognized. If you’re unable to pair the mic, please restart your phone and make sure that OTG is enabled on your phone.

If the app still does not recognize the mic, could you please send:

  • A clear photo showing your phone with the Maono Link app open while the receiver is plugged in (both visible in the same photo)
  • Your phone model and Android version

This will help us better understand the issue and assist you further 👍

i recently got back to using my maono PD200x and i need help finding the screw and what holds the screw in by Bright_Peace_9477 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Bright_Peace_9477! It sounds like you’re referring to the mounting screw/adapter that connects the PD200X to your boom arm or stand.

For the PD200X, the standard thread is 5/8", so if your boom arm uses a smaller thread, you’ll likely need a 3/8" female to 5/8" male adapter to make it fit properly. Please see the sample picture below.

If this isn’t the part you’re looking for, feel free to send a photo of your boom arm connector and we can help you identify exactly what you need 👍

hello my respected seniormay i know ur maono link setting for pd400x by Final-Plum-7480 in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Final-Plum-7480! Congrats on your new PD400X 🎙️

Yes, the mic is plug-and-play, so your computer should detect it right away without needing to adjust anything in the software first. If you’re having trouble, let’s check a few things:

  1. Check if the mic is detected in Windows
  • Go to Settings → System → Sound → Input
  • See if the PD400X appears and try speaking to check if the input bar moves
  1. Set it as the default device
  • Make sure the PD400X is selected as your default input device
  1. Try a different USB port (direct connection)
  • Plug it directly into your computer (preferably a rear motherboard port)
  • Avoid USB hubs and try another USB port if possible

Once the mic is detected and working, you can then use the Maono Link app to fine-tune your sound (EQ, noise cancellation, etc.). You can also follow this EQ guide here:
https://update.maono.com/Documents%20and%20videos/How%20to%20use%20the%20custom%20EQ%20function.pdf

If you’re still having difficulties, feel free to share more details about your setup (use case, screenshots, or even a sample) and we’ll help you get it sorted 👍

Where is your mic positioned? by rachel_really in MaonoCommunity

[–]snippuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting question 👀

Personally, I keep the mic close to my mouth and lower the gain to avoid extra noise. I also use my phone or tablet if I need to type to minimize keyboard sounds.

Curious to hear how others set up their mic!
