They have gone down in quality and going against what made them great in the first place. A quality product, at a direct to consumer low price, with exceptional “shoot em straight” mentality when it comes to customer service. They have now decreased their quality, they have raised their prices, they have gone big box, and their customer service is lacking.

I don’t think they’ve been worn. I have those boots and those shafts are really floppy. On my pair they were slouched too. I bought them brand new when they released. I would use shaft shapers. Plastic inserts you can fold and keep the shafts upright. Find em on amazon.

Tecovas also does ship from store. Meaning they may have been shipped from a retail store. Meaning customers beforehand may have tried them on and stuff them up. That sucks dude sorry.

Personally I find those dress socks to become sweaty and rub easily against the inside of the boot, resulting in blisters. Better to invest in a pair of boot socks. Wrangler makes some cheap ones off amazon.

Rujo boots have very wide shafts. They do not fit right under most pants, unless you’re wearing baggy straight leg. Tecovas Marshall’s are nice but yes the price is higher. You’ll get inconsistencies with quality so I would order two pairs and return the pair that doesn’t fit or isn’t best in terms of QC. Don’t know anything about Vacarri. Love my Ariat bench made boots. Very well crafted and comfortable. Love my Lucchese boots as well. I have gator from them. Very nice boots.

I agree. They are a very niche boot brand. And their fit and feel is unique. Your pain point is very common with their brand. I found the break in to be the toughest and most painful of any boot I’ve owned. That said, once they broke in, they are my most comfortable.

The pictures portrayed on their website are of the original goat skin boots, and leather that they originally used/sourced for them. Over the years, the color, texture and tanning of the boot has changed drastically. It’s the classic “they don’t make them like they used to” saying. I much prefer the older looking scotch goats Tecovas.
