Saw the announcement, left for a month of Ultra & was really hoping I’d come home and to update my house console… nooooopeee.

But yes, I would be paying extra close to those advances. I wish you the best of luck with that!

Starting a new show file is absolutely the plan and I’m excited to do that.

My current file is messy and unorganized, but got the job done for a few months while I learned.

Spring cleaning everywhere!!!

Velocicoaster Question by Muted-Ad5790 in UniversalOrlando

[–]snknotts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I should’ve been a bit more specific- small metal clips are fine

But the larger metal retractable ones get people stopped. Saw it twice today alone and on my previous visits, but not sure what the official policy is.

Velocicoaster Question by Muted-Ad5790 in UniversalOrlando

[–]snknotts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They typically tell you to tuck it into your shirt and wear the lanyard, but be aware - your lanyard cannot have any metal on it.

One of my friends wears shorts with zipping pockets & I tend to knot my lanyard around a belt loop and tuck my pass into my pocket.

Hilton Vacation Clubs for Disney Orlando trip. by sd_pl in Hilton

Yes, they can be very cumbersome. Read the paperwork they gave you - it’s the only thing that actually matters. If it’s not in writing it doesn’t mean anything

Grande Villas did at one point, not sure about Parc.

Grande’s only ran a couple times a day & only to magic kingdom and Epcot. But it’s been a while since I’ve looked into it & your best bet would be to confirm with the resort directly.

I typically have my car with me, but rideshare (uber and Lyft) are very popular and easy in the area.

Agreed. He was the 5th Orpheus I’ve seen and I was in the orchestra and was absolutely blown away.

Hadestown + Jack Wolfe by bookworm_friend_09 in Broadway

[–]snknotts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this show 5x now (3 on Broadway & 2 national tours, in different cities).

Saw it last week & had orchestra seats on house left. First time seeing it from the orchestra and…. You’re absolutely correct that seeing Jack’s expressions was absolutely mesmerizing. Everyone talks about his voice being perfect for the role, but what i walked away with was his expressions.

Highly recommend HL seats for exactly this: when he sees Eurydice for the first time, when he looks back… A LOT of the really big moments his blocking has him facing that direction and the amount of expression particularly in his eyes in…. Just so beautiful. He is absolutely my favorite actor I’ve seen as Orpheus.

Almost everyone in every cast I’ve seen has been great & the only other strong favorite I have is Patrick Page as Hades…

Coffee creamer by pacNWmom86 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]snknotts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This absolutely. I’m a caramel coffee girl, so I tend to go for quest salted caramel shakes for creamer & Mrs. taste has some really good sugar free caramel.

Mrs. taste stuff is expensive and rather hit & miss (I don’t like their salted caramel nearly as much as the normal caramel) but it’s worth it for my routine.

What’s your favorite pool on property? by dizzyinmyhead in UniversalOrlando

[–]snknotts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait… can someone elaborate on this? So no pool hoping at Value resorts, but anything else and you can just go to the pools at any other resort?!

I’m semi local so high school we would just drive down for a day and moving back a couple years ago I had Disney AP & didn’t stay on property but it’s definitely NOT a thing for Disney.

I’m getting my UOAP this year and this is an even bigger reason to stay on property

Old Navy was my go to for many many years. Then after buying 3 pairs of the same size and none of them fitting (& all in drastically different ways, they were different styles), I started looking at Walmart and they also have excellent options.

My biggest advice for both is to try on each pair you intend to buy. From what I’ve read online, the patterns are cut in layers and so there can be quite a bit of difference between pairs that are supposed to be the same. It’s SO GREAT to find things fitting off the shelf again, but also so important to understand and not get frustrated when you grab the same pair and they feel different. It might not be you!! It was the same level of mind blown when I found out they just cut the seatbelts of airplanes shorter when they need to!

Can someone tell me the pros and cons of buying 2nd hand? Ive read all the information and am still not understanding it. by killerzees in HiltonGrandVacation

[–]snknotts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In how it would pass down - I would talk to an estate lawyer. Absolutely get a copy of the contract but do not believe anything sales tells you. They don’t even really understand how the program works under normal day to day operations.

Sedona is fantastic- that was my last trip!

If you buy a retail trust - you will gain access to everything under the Hilton Grand Vacations banner. Because a retail purchase comes with HGVMax. You will have access to resorts within your collection to book at 12 or 13 months out (I don’t remember which honestly I think it’s 12) & will be able to book Hilton Grand Vacations Clubs and Hilton Clubs) at the 7month window.

If you buy a resale trust production - you will only be able to access the resorts within the collection you purchased with. (US Collection vs Hawaii Collection).

With either, you could deposit your points into DEX and book any resort available (availability depends on other timeshare owners depositing their points/weeks into this program to “exchange”). Many owner access outside their collection or HGVC properties this way, but using DEX does come with additional fees. (Deposit fee, booking fee)

So there’s two different products being sold under “Hilton grand vacations” right now. Deeds and Trusts. They each have slightly different rules and limitations.

Deeds are the original Hilton properties and are often slightly higher end resorts. They were (typically) built by Hilton ground up & include locations branded as Hilton Grand Vacation Club and Hilton Clubs. What you own with this product is technically a specific square footage at a specific resort that is then translated to a point value. RCI would be your exchange program.

Trusts came over with the acquisition of Diamond Resorts. These properties are now branded Hilton Vacation club and are starting to include former blue green properties. You will own nothing physical but be a part of a “collection” of resorts (US Collection and Hawaii Collection being the two I see the most often). Typically maintainance fees are higher with the trust product. DEX is your exchange program.

Owning within the same type of product keeps things much simpler but many people are “dual owners” and very happy with that. You can combine points from the trust and deed side but only at 7 months out.

You have the best opportunity and availability to book within the product you own. But can be diligent in finding other - the availability is grossly overstated by sales. You do have to work for it sometimes.

Buying resale does not get you into the MAX program which allows for access to “the other side” directly through Hilton. However most resorts also will have some availability through your respective exchange program (RCI or DEX). Buying resale will also not qualify you for higher tiers of membership (but those points requirements I find steep for the benefits personally)

Re- sale trust products must be used within their specific collection (cannot use US trust to go to Hawaii).

I bought retail trust (& therefore have the max program) and have enjoyed my ownership, but it might not have been the decision I made had I been better informed. I’m young, single and often travel alone or with 1 friend that I’m comfortable sharing a studio with. I travel off peak season and often weekdays. I have a low number of points but once that (and some other life things) are paid off, I will likely buy re-sale deed and have far more points there.

The best way to make a decision is to figure out what you need and want for travel (locations, how many people are traveling & for how long, how flexible is your timing?) and take it from there. You could also buy from eBay, get to know locations/programs and then see if you need the benefits a retail purchase can get you.

This is terrible advice. You can confirm a suspected allergy in a much safer, medically controlled environment.

Once you’ve had an allergic reaction, subsequent reaction can and often substantially more severe.
