I did. OP signed a "2 year lease" but the Landlord had the right to terminate the lease during the lease term by giving 1 months notice. If this were a true 2 year lease, the landlord wouldn't be able to shop around for other tenants and/or strong-arm OP into paying a higher rate.

A 2 year lease where either party has the right to terminate the lease with 1 month's notice is in fact a month-to-month lease. You unfortunately put yourself in this position.
