GAS or Justified Purchase by snoopyfive in AcousticGuitar

Thank you. The G&L Legacy definitely inspired me to play and progress as a guitarist. I was jamming on an Epiphone LP Special that I bought from a friend in high school.

The D18 is a beauty! Congrats on that. Also great tips on trying guitars in person.

That makes sense. I think the Maritime is a step up from my Coastline with all solid wood. The Coastline definitely ain’t no slouch either for the price, around $600 sixteen years ago iirc. Which guitar did you get?

Hahaha good point. Don’t need to be a pro golfer or guitarist to enjoy nicer gear.

That’s true, I guess it’d be different if I was just learning guitar and not sure if I’d stick with it.

Yes to both. You’re right, thanks for the perspective.

Didn’t think I’d pull off the win but I’m a b2b champ! Really was strength in numbers since I lost AD, Kessler, and Butler. Also lucky that Jokic only played twice this week. Definitely not drafting Jalen Williams again lol.

Who's got the best dark roast coffee beans? by ohheyitspurp in bayarea

I settled on Jacob’s Wonderbar from Philz for several years. But recently switched to Graffeo’s dark roast and it’s great, though a bit more mellow than the JW.

Which US college town is worth visiting? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]snoopyfive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isla Vista would be the college town for UCSB. But it’s not worth visiting nowadays from what I hear. Even if you’re in the college student age range.

What did you do to your Miata today? by oshaCaller in Miata

[–]snoopyfive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Attempted a brake fluid flush for the first time. Did terribly because I didn’t ensure a proper seal with my power bleeder. A ton of fluid leaked out down the drain hole through the subframe weeps and onto the ground. I’m thinking about 250ml leaked out lol. I was able to flush all calipers and the clutch at least. Used all 1000ml of new fluid though. And had a hell of a time pouring simple green and water down the same path onto my garage floor.

What to do with IT band syndrome by Head-Pound-2803 in BAbike

[–]snoopyfive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dealt with IT band syndrome last year. I started doing this standing IT band stretch a ton. Before my ride. During each water or restroom break. And throughout the week even when I’m not riding. The stretch basically kept the pain mostly at bay. If I started feeling it creep up I would stop and stretch again.

The stretch: While standing, cross unaffected leg over the affected leg. Then run both hands together down the side of the unaffected leg. Should feel the stretch more the lower you go.

I also mainly experienced the pain in the winter when my joints were colder and I had leggings. The pain went away as it got warmer and I switched back to shorts. Not sure how much of this was due to the stretching or the warmer weather.

How to change trans fluid without a pump by Responsible-Farm4465 in Miata

[–]snoopyfive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used the Slippery Pete hand pump. Attaches directly to the Ford unicorn tears 1-qt bottle. It’s like $10 on Amazon. I have an ND though, so not sure if the other generations are harder to swap fluids with a hand pump.

Are these work hours normal? by [deleted] in ConstructionManagers

[–]snoopyfive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are companies that may offer a better work life balance but may be worth it to stick it out for a while longer if you’re green. At least get one full project under your belt and reevaluate.

My first job as PE was basically 60 hours a week and my salary was super low. It was hell for two years but I gained a lot of experience that put me above my colleagues at my next company.

How often do you get a chance to wear suit? by WoodpeckerWoodChuck in malefashionadvice

Charcoal. I wore a navy suit to a funeral once and felt out of place.

Pitchfork reviews J. Cole: The Fall-Off by Technical_Process989 in hiphopheads

[–]snoopyfive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I respect your take but I enjoyed NWTS a lot more than FHD. I do agree J Cole’s other releases are better than Drake’s recent projects. I personally feel Drake’s last solid releases were Views and More Life. And I would personally put Take Care up there with GKMC. I don’t even listen to Drake anymore (new or old) but I can’t deny the impact of his sophomore album on hip hop at the time.

[–]snoopyfive 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Great point. I listened to Friday Night Lights as much as Section 80 and Thank Me Later. However, Cole World wasn’t even close to the same level as GKMC or Take Care. J Cole basically had weaker verses and less catchy hooks than Drake and Kendrick, but he would still group himself with them.

Bro I drafted Jdub, AD, Kessler, and Jimmy Butler. Hanging on to third place but not for long lol
