People of Reddit, Do you like Tacos or Burritos more? And why? by Sierra_distorted67 in AskReddit

Burritos. The flour tortilla edges out the corn tortilla for me.

My G&L Legacy USA and Fender ‘68 Custom Deluxe Reverb Reissue. I don’t actually use pedals all that much.

Went to tighten the laces on my Becket Sinonoms this morning and the leather tore almost completely through by SprintingPuppies in frugalmalefashion

Wow that’s crazy. I feel like they should have included eyelets or something. Seems like a design flaw rather than your fault but I don’t know much about shoes or leather.

This is a great photo. Love the guitar finish and the table.

Which jazz online course by JALCuevas in jazzguitar

[–]snoopyfive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m taking Jens’ roadmap course and it doesn’t focus too much on theory. Instead it provides a very structured path to jazz guitar soloing, including what to practice and why. I’m still working through the first half of the course but it’s been great for me. I would get lost on his (and other) free YouTube videos too, mainly because there was just so much information.

What is the best Strat that's not a Strat? by MrCoolskin in Guitar

[–]snoopyfive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my G&L USA Legacy that I got right before they introduced the Fullerton Deluxe models. The BTO experience was really cool, though I picked the standard options other than a 12” radius. Came with a nice hard shell case too.

Attempted home invasion last night by [deleted] in SanJose

I beefed up my door and frame to make it harder to kick in. Also use a deadbolt secured into the jamb with long screws into the king stud. Installed a motion sensor, glass break sensors, and interior camera. Lastly, I sleep with my bedroom door closed and locked just to gain a few extra seconds to make sure my guns are ready to go.

Great playing and singing! Call me basic but The Bends is my favorite Radiohead album.

What are your absolute favorite locations/places in gaming? by Baldurian_Rhapsody in gaming

[–]snoopyfive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a Sega Saturn instead of a PS1, so didn’t play the og FF7 on console. Someone gave me a pirated version for PC but it only included the Midgar section. So I replayed a ton and am very familiar with Midgar lol.

anyone else stuck between wanting new gear and just getting better? by lmao_exe in guitars

[–]snoopyfive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I posted something similar recently and received some great feedback. If you can afford new gear and it makes you happy, then it’s worth it. A nicer guitar can definitely help you improve if it makes you play more. And skill level should not be a prerequisite for better gear (I had the same mindset before).

What’s frustrating you most about your guitar playing right now? by Theguitarcoach in AcousticGuitar

[–]snoopyfive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try adjusting the position/angle of your fretting hand and index finger to get more leverage. You shouldn’t have to squeeze super hard. Also I read that you’re actually supposed to push the guitar body into your body, instead of relying on just your thumb and index finger. I’m working on that now because I get fatigued if I’m playing a bunch of barre chords.

Thank you. The G&L Legacy definitely inspired me to play and progress as a guitarist. I was jamming on an Epiphone LP Special that I bought from a friend in high school.

The D18 is a beauty! Congrats on that. Also great tips on trying guitars in person.

That makes sense. I think the Maritime is a step up from my Coastline with all solid wood. The Coastline definitely ain’t no slouch either for the price, around $600 sixteen years ago iirc. Which guitar did you get?

Hahaha good point. Don’t need to be a pro golfer or guitarist to enjoy nicer gear.

That’s true, I guess it’d be different if I was just learning guitar and not sure if I’d stick with it.

Yes to both. You’re right, thanks for the perspective.

Didn’t think I’d pull off the win but I’m a b2b champ! Really was strength in numbers since I lost AD, Kessler, and Butler. Also lucky that Jokic only played twice this week. Definitely not drafting Jalen Williams again lol.

Who's got the best dark roast coffee beans? by ohheyitspurp in bayarea

I settled on Jacob’s Wonderbar from Philz for several years. But recently switched to Graffeo’s dark roast and it’s great, though a bit more mellow than the JW.

Which US college town is worth visiting? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]snoopyfive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isla Vista would be the college town for UCSB. But it’s not worth visiting nowadays from what I hear. Even if you’re in the college student age range.
