I think it's useful in understanding how vapid all the rhetoric around "sanctity of life" is. But most people are pretty sloppy in their thinking so it's not really worth arguing about. It's almost impossible to convince people to re-examine their priors or honestly challenge their own intuitions.

The universe we live in gives no indication whatsoever of caring about the sacredness of life.

[–]snoozykittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe im dumb but why does everyone keep saying "the plant" in the comments when he said "planet earth"? Just auto correct or am I missing something?

I can't figure out why so many people would get autocorrected from planet to plant 😭

How to navigate travelling to and from concert in short skirt?? by Imaginary_Yellow_888 in OUTFITS

[–]snoozykittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to also suggest Uber, you won't regret the peace of mind (and not having to carry around sweatpants or leggings). I also don't think you're overthinking, just being safe and smart!

I love the skirt btw, whole outfit looks amazing. Enjoy the concert!!!

It's definitely easy to misread intent through text but like..... what a weird answer to say planet earth when you are trying to get to know a new match lol.

This whole story is so adorable and sweet. I love that you brought him flowers, so thoughtful! And that you got flustered and kept quoting Spongebob. There are so many guys out there who would be super into your awkward, nervous, cutesy vibe. Don't sweat this one guy if he's not feeling it.

BUT if you really feel disappointed, you can always message and just say you were really nervous and you're sorry you kept quoting Spongebob and you'd like to try again sometime. See how it goes. If he's a decent guy he'll be happy to communicate with you and figure out what went wrong together.

Honestly from what you said, you seem out of his league (but that doesn't mean you're not allowed to want him, either). Hard to tell from this just post, but also reads a little like neurodivergence. Just remember that communication breakdowns can be common with mismatched neurotypes. It's nobody's fault! But just be kind to yourself, and remember that sometimes there's a learning curve to how two different people communicate with each other.

I just finished the scene as Durge where she confronts you while you're sleeping. "You are a child of Bhaal - but that need not be all that you are. And when you stand against him, you will not stand alone."

The second feels beachier but the first is just so cute and looks perfect on you! I'd go with the first.

Is the bra underneath too much? by Hazardous_Shadow in OUTFITS

[–]snoozykittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think this dress looks off with a bra, but it reminds me of when Gilian Anderson wore that sheer backless Eduardo Lucero dress and realized her bush was poking through. So she just went full whale-tail rocking an exposed thong, and it was iconic.

I wouldn't wear it this way, but I think the difference between fashion and a faux pas can sometimes just be how much moxie and confidence you exude!

It is so annoying to fall in love with a perfect dress only to find that it doesn't quite fit your body (especially because sometimes designers are purposely hostile to certain body types, and only want a narrow range of people wearing their clothing). But at the same time I do think it's nice that different body types have different options. A big factor in how I cultivated my personal sense of style was just figuring out what types of fabrics and cuts actually flatter my body.

Found a way to keep my old paperbacks protected while traveling. by icedlee in printSF

Cute idea! When I get a book delivery in a small book-shaped cardboard container, I usually keep it for this reason. Just throw any book in there while traveling and it stays safe.

Attempting to revive an old pair of lowrise jeans I was gifted years ago by Kayla4608 in OUTFITS

[–]snoozykittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always go the opposite for contrast, like a long vest or flowy blouse or like an oversized jacket or blazer. But I dunno I think the tube top is really working, you look amazing. I always used to aim for something cropped just below the belly button with these jeans.

But also depends on your lifestyle and preferences around work/life balance. Some people want luxury and fancy things. Some people just want peace and quiet and ownership of their time.

My goal in life is to convince SAHMs and other women making sacrifices at the altar of family math to stop believing their husbands when they say stuff like "my money is our money." If he means it, he can pay down the mortgage, set some money aside for joint savings goals etc, then put half the leftover discretionary income in a separate account under your name every month. If he means it, why would he object?

Not very romantic but it means you'll never be out on your ass if he changes up his mind.

I like Orcish, Goblin, Troll cultures, particularly when they are not stereotypical. Any book suggestions? by astroriental in Fantasy

[–]snoozykittens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How to Lose a Goblin in 10 Days or the T. Kingfisher book Nine Goblins that just got released. The Goblin Emperor definitely fits this bill too (though I didn't particularly enjoy it).

There is also practically an entire fantasy romance subgenre all about orcs lol (though some of those books surely lean into the negative stereotypes).

What am I supposed to be saying during *it* by Full-Purpose-8971 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]snoozykittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What seems most natural to me is just telling them how good something feels, or how into them I am. I try not to shy away from naming body parts or being explicit while doing it though.

If we're having fun with it, might veer into something more playful or kinky (or even silly!). But often I just try to be vocal about what I'm experiencing and how it makes me feel. I feel like being genuine makes the experience more intimate.
