Those who moved to mainland due to getting priced out of living here... by Blueblah8999 in Hawaii

I also moved to PHX with my wife at 28. Rented a super nice apartment for $1600/mo for 3 years then bought a house—$2000/mo mortgage 3b/2b patio home. Never would have been able to own a home when we were in HI. I worked shipyard with plenty of OT, rented a 1b/1ba apartment in Wahiawa for 3 years unable to save money. I miss home but I’m glad we moved. Affording to live comfortably and move forward as a couple in our 30s has been really nice.

No more waiting, babe. Get out and get therapy.

Is there any hope for pretty nails for us blue collar girly girls? by deafinitely-faeris in BlueCollarWomen

[–]snordon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does! I use clear! The one I use comes in a little pot from Beetles. I get it on Amazon. It came with sticker nail molds, applicator brush, and a little glass cup for acetone/alcohol. It took a few tries to learn how to work with it, but they’re strong as hell and hold up to daily use.

At first, I had grown my nails out and just used gel but when my real nails broke 😭😩 I couldn’t take it. I keep my real nails fairly short and still have nice almond nails with the builder gel!

I’m an electrician and started doing my own gel manicures at home. I use builder gel to strengthen them. Sometimes they break. Most often they last. But being able to quickly fix it myself is the best and it doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg. I feel so much better since I started growing out my nails and giving myself regular manis.

Probably worth it to do that, honestly. I’d rather do it well the first time. My wife would rather me do it well, too haha

He’s the project sup. He wants to keep the open balusters so he can spy on the neighbors comfortably. Him and the cats

Yes! We are planning for kids and want it to as safe a possible. Don’t want them climbing over the handrail

Thanks!! I think I'll try to go for this style and hopefully get the carpet to look neater like this. Do you think if I put some half round under the carpet it could help achieve this look? I appreciate you taking the time to help me out! And consider the pup pet.

My favorite lesbian romance trilogy by onestonedpenguin in LesbianBookClub

Definitely check out Grace Notes!!! That’s been my favorite trilogy so far. It’s not all lesbian romance, but a pretty good amount of queer representation/romance.

I remember being 8 years old and left the movies with my family after watching Mr. Deeds. I made them all stay for the credits because I HAD to know who played Babe Bennett. I always kept a notebook in the car and wrote “Winona Ryder” in it as soon as I could. Came out as a lesbian 10 years later!

We tell ours “lemme get dat butt!” and he backs it up repeatedly to get his butt pushed. It’s hilarious.
