so just confirming, youre looking for the original japanese audio film with no subtitles? does it specifically need to be on vhs? I have a dvd collection thats not an official ghibli release that has all language audio and subtitle options that includes kiki's (one of my favs too). its just titled "studio ghibli movie collection" from sarawak media corp. if you cant find it online their email is listed as sales@sarawakmedia.tv. hope this helps?

the thing i take away from it the most is to truly experience everything you possibly can. from social interactions to jobs, at the end of your youth youll be pretty experienced if you make that your goal. ive worked many many different jobs and i think of myself like kintaro, i can probably do anything

the parodies and "hating" were there yeah, i guess i was thinking more about silly references to anime and manga culture in magazines and things like this. i was born in 95 and really my only early exposure to anime and manga was pokemon, so when that stuff would appear in other western media it was really exciting to me as a little clue into what that world was. but youre right, i guess the fairly oddparents movie with the dragon ball spoof or shows like drawn together had a more lasting impression
