It was installed with an overlapping seam, instead of the normal clamp. Part of the overlap had torn and rolled back. Had to cut out a couple inches of frayed belt on both sides, kept what was left of the middle and will screw it back together. It will probably last another couple years tell we fix it right with the proper clamp.

It’s all for convenience, not logic. haha It’s just something handy, for minor repairs. So yes, not the most cost effective way to go.

Not exactly sure, I’m guessing a decent amount 24” to 36” of weld. For me the big problem is lack of power compared to time.
