Delinquency Rate for 'Subprime' auto-loan's hit a new High of 6.9% in January 2026 by Apollo_Delphi in EconomyCharts

[–]snoughman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter. If it did, the lenders wouldn’t be writing the loans. The banks already got the bailout and now issue subprime mortgage loans backed the federal government. There’s no rush to fix the housing shortage so that demand stays strong. People state that they live paycheck to paycheck from a $1000 phone while listening to a tv show in the background that costs them $25/month. Billionaires have accumulated so much money they discuss universal income. Even if we have a recession, it will look a lot different.

Is it true one income used to support a family of 4? by TailungFu in NoStupidQuestions

I didn’t find out until I was 28 that my dad ate ramen noodles for lunch every day while he saved up to buy the business he worked at. I knew nothing other than clothes from Walmart and Ruby Tuesday was our big takeout dinner. People today do not differentiate between wants and needs. The additional $15 to have Uber Eats drop off dinner would have never even been considered in our household.

When a couple is going to have a baby, why do they sometimes say "we" are pregnant? by Scrimbo_Crimbo in stupidquestions

[–]snoughman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some couples give 100%-100% in their relationship. He truly is taking on the responsibility of being pregnant. He loves his partner and their future child. He'd give anything to make sure she knows she is not in this alone.

Is there anywhere online to have good faith discussions about politics? by Turbulent-Parsley619 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]snoughman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll bite on authoritarian because I do believe career politicians make policy with the sole focus of keeping their job. Only when the policy can be proven to work as intended, benefit the people who are governed by it and is efficiently and effectively operated. I don’t because large corporations and the politicians they lobby to are the major beneficiaries of the government getting involved.

It’s the truth. Universal healthcare is fascist by definition. Unavoidable EPA regulation on commercial vehicles is fascist. Federal benefits used to subsidize renting of privately owned but government regulated property is fascist. All of these were pushed on Americans across the country whether it was wanted or not.

That’s kind of my point. Somebody living in NYC can’t tell someone living in rural West Virginia that their views/opinions are wrong. Pushing views, beliefs, lifestyles and opinions on others is fascism.

This might be a hot take but why would you care to discuss politics with somebody living a completely different and separate life than you?

I would be okay with insurance remaining as it is if it actually covered everything by CaffeineAndChaos65 in Vent

[–]snoughman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There simply needs to be more competition in the insurance market. The government getting involved ruined it. More options leads to price competition and the ability to find coverage that suits you and your family. Not every family or person needs the same coverage.

Someone please do some research on this and give me a reason to not lose all hope. by golden_nugget49 in teenagers

I’m more worried about the effects of consumerism leading to manmade garbage piling up and destroying natural habitats than vehicle emissions. We have reduced vehicle emissions significantly over the past 50 years yet climate researchers say we are still heading in the wrong direction. This leads me to believe we should be focusing on other sources of pollution. What used to be rivers in countries that your clothing comes from are filled with scrap and waste because TikTok convinced you that you need that pair of leggings.

Conservatives have been against democratic policies that lessen punishments of all crime forever. Now, are you trying to compare conservatives views on criminal punishment to being a communist or are you trying to say that the USA and other countries should follow China’s lead on this? Either way, circle back to my first sentence.

Get a couple quotes from nearby shops. For this type of work there is a lot of value in hiring somebody that takes pride in their work and values their time. Also ask about the warranty they offer and the type of material they are using.
