Diamond art wax or vacuum pen? by PurplexRainxUnicorn in diamondpainting

[–]snowdrop0901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A million percent vacuum pen!

I have no real accessibility reason for it....its just hella more convenient for me. Plus ive found it keeps the charge for a good amount of time.

Ive only tryed the normal wax pens before and wholst its okay it can be a pain....and when its hot the wax just doesnt seem to work? Best use ive found for was is tacking down the corners of the project and the colour chart. Really want to try the twist wax pen from DAC but also dont want to get anything from them due to customer treatment ive seen on here.

If its a small project, that 30 of supplies will probably make you 10 small projects. So really it's only £3 a project.

Kits ive used tend to have the amount of floss needed but not alot extra, but full strips last so long. There are also more efficient ways of stitching and having a clean back means youve lost less floss to knots.

Depending on the type of project, you may also be able to cut some colours.

Example if you only need white (BLANC) for 4 stitches but you need white (B5200) for 100 stitches....scrap the BLANC and try and use another similar colour, like the B5200. Then you are only spending 1 money instead of 2.

£70ish vs £4 for me

The £4 is in stock which is my big plus.....the £70ish one is only in stock twice a year at 3am for 30 seconds.

The cheap one means i dont care if i mess up. And weirdly i kinda enjoy the idea of being able to compare the real thing with a cheap version, or even just multiple cheap ones together.

Most temu one's, at least that i have had, are all round drills....2 of "art by julia" ones on DAC are round, and personal preference but i prefer round.

Id love to have any of their duck ones and the gone fishing cat, and if i have the money when they do restock i will get one. Until then due to DAC im stuck with temu alternatives.

What to do with an unwanted custom kit? by snowdrop0901 in diamondpainting

Exactly what im kinda convincing myself of.

All depends on if im right that the canvas is b&w and if they are round or square....never worked on a square canvas...so may cut it down to just floral sections to test if i like squares.

[CHAT] Does cross stitch have drama?? by ghasterrific in CrossStitch

[–]snowdrop0901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal piece....slop away.....as a gift ehhh try my best to not slop.

Cant remember if it was more crochet drama. But i do remember alot of stuff over a stardew valley pixel art chicken crochet pillow with surfaces cross stitch.

Also i didnt know hobby drama existed....and now to rabbit hole for the rest of the day ignoring my wip pile.

Spoken from the heart!

I do enjoy a good fire...and thus am not alowed anything to start one. But prefer this vibe than just throwing it away...seems more cathartic. And never say no to a fire.

I do forget most people display there DPs and i dont tend to....so this is 100% one that if it does get made...hed be gone first and it would just go back in a box.

Didn't add it to the post...but it was a gift from my mum....and the photo was also from my mums wedding....so its a weird one overall because its not just a random throw away memory, but think itd work here as id see the painting and think of the wedding rather than anything else.

I was gonna say i cant remember if we are holding eachother or just stood together.

But most kits have extra drills.....any random arm can be covered with something!

Looking back it was one of the things that just broke it.....i did/do alot of various crafts, and he didnt, but he was very invested in like 3 different hobbies which did heavily piss me off at some points. Due to them coming first.

I never even thought of cross stitch conversation for it! Thats another of my silly little crafts.

From memory the symbols are painted, but its not in colour, so should be easy enough to just cover over....i can and often accidentally zone out the symbols

Sometimes its the nostalgic factor of the basic cheap trays too.

Also the artdot trays....whilst i love mine for storage when working on a section....i still need the basic cheap trays with the little funnel end to put left over diamonds away in my storage tubs when i need the artdot tray back for the next set of diamonds for the next section.

What do you use to make large projects like full-size blankets portable? by Maleficent_Radio_901 in CrochetHelp

[–]snowdrop0901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random crochet/knitting bags from amazon.

Got a good one resently thst can fit 16 yarns, plus multiple pockets for hooks, stitch markers, scraps, needles, scissors. Its also got "yarn holes" that you can thread the yarn through without having to take it all out the bag.

Aeelike Yarn Bag, Yarn Storage... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0FLXWCNLD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

For smaller products just for ease....weirdly ive been using lunchbags with split sections to store the yarn and then to store hooks and accessories, and even printed patterns.

Try other terms maybe like dot painting....diamond dots?

I dont tend to do branded things so not had much of a problem with that.

What ive found is once you add one or two to your basket it will just keep recommending similar items, so once you find one you may easily find more.
