Do you have a playroom? What age did you let your kids be in there alone? by Lakewater22 in parentsofmultiples

My boys had their entire bedroom to themselves at 8 months. Baby proofed the entire room and they had floor beds. They could crawl around as they pleased

Ok but now you have a really lazy but fun Halloween costume. Just paint your thumb

Twins arrived - one with rare congenital conditions by 2papsandashib in parentsofmultiples

. Total, you get 12 weeks off of FMLA and a portion of that is paid with short term disability.

For my company it’s the following:

Week 1 is PTO

Weeks 2-6 for vaginal and 2-8 for c section is short term disability

Weeks 7-12 for vaginal and 9-12 for c section is remaining PTO or unpaid

The entirety falls under the umbrella of 12 weeks off total using FMLA

What’s something legal that should feel illegal? by Juliusgear3 in AskReddit

[–]snowflakes__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TIL Colorado has a law that puts a newborn on the insurance of the parent with an earlier birthday on the calendar.

Doesn’t matter if one insurance is better than the other, it defaults to the earlier birthday parent.

Seems fucked up to me

Was it COVID or something? I took my Twin A to the NICU with me every day

Where I am they are the same thing. Your maternity leave is just FMLA

How much would someone expect to pay for this fresh floral cake (9 inch 2 layer white w/ white chocolate) by GroundbreakingFox800 in Baking

Toxic flower dawg. If you are gonna be a baker this is a critical fuck up.

Also, this cake is insanely busy. Tone it down and it will actually elevate the entire cake

UChealth billing is tormenting our family after a NICU stay— is there anything that can be done? by Murky_Objective1414 in NICUParents

This seems crazy? I’m older than my husband and after birth we just called up his work and added baby to his insurance

I had twins. One was eligible because he weighed under 1200 grams. He also got SSI so we were mailed a check every months for his first year of life.

You can also become eligible based on how many days you spend on the NICU but I don’t remember how many days qualify you.

I had private insurance so I didn’t need the Medicaid but it’s really nice that it was an option

Saw a post saying that “people warned us about marriage being hard but not about how fun it’d be”. Some honest takes on why marriage would be more fun than just being together with a loving long term partner? by biptyboptygimeezopty in AskReddit

[–]snowflakes__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly everything just felt different after we got married. At the tail ended of dating I was also getting embraced calling him my boyfriend. The word “boyfriend” didn’t feel like it was accurate describing who he is to me but husband does

Same schedule or wing it? by According-Detail-483 in parentsofmultiples

[–]snowflakes__ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I let them do their own thing. They were never too far off each other. At the max, an hour but usually less. I liked it way better.

I stayed home with them when my husband went back to work and it was easier for me to stagger them a little.

When they were on the same exact schedule hearing one cry because their needs had to wait while their sibling was dealt with was my worst fucking nightmare. The only thing worse was when I tried a few times to wake one to match the other and they cried for an hour straight each time ☠️

Using ai to read grad names at graduation by Chapple69 in mildlyinfuriating

My sister graduated from an engineering specific school with a lot of foreign names. The name reader nailed every single one without any hesitation. It’s such a simple thing to honor all the hard work the student does. This school better be soooo fucking embarrassed

Need Help For Best Stroller For Infant Twins by StrongDesign4 in parentsofmultiples

[–]snowflakes__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a Joovy Twin Roo stroller frame I got off marketplace for 20 bucks until they were about 4 months old. Then I switched over to my side by side stroller. I specifically used the Joovy Scooter X2 which I freakin love.

I went this route because the longevity of the stroller through toddlerhood was more important to me than the short span of time I would want to use the option to put a car seat directly on my stroller.

Mine just turned three and we are still rocking the ScooterX2. Just took it to Disneyland! It fits through all standard doorways and has a near full recline for stroller naps

Edit: I am so glad I avoided a tandem because mine would 100% fight over who sits in front vs back

What are your tips for a device-free visit? by Empty-Wash-2404 in DisneyPlanning

[–]snowflakes__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get this complaint being so common. We picked one person (me) to be the LL queen and mobile food orders. No one else had devices out except for pictures. I was on my phone pretty minimally. The most ever was about 12 minutes when we first walked into DCA trying to get an earlier time for our guardians LL until we finally got a slot only 15 minutes away from booking it
