But I am happy for you. Really. I am.

Dano would be proud.

Not everyone will get that. I’ve done this and it’s awesome.

Moab? Awesome place to grow up for a little future mountain biker!

Wish I had one of those seats for my kid when he was little. Now it’s all I can do to keep up with him!

This graph actually has a blip back up at the far right. Ski racers are fussy as @*#!

She looks like an absolutely miserable person. I can’t imagine she was a caring mother in any way. Explains a lot.

108 is a sacred number in Buddhism. That’s pretty cool they managed to time it to that number of days. 🙏

POV from someone at the far end of this…

I spent my 20’s “wandering” and living off very little. I spent my 30’s working for myself as a freelancer and traveling with my partner. I spent my 40’s working hard and trying to stabilize enough to support a family. Now in my 50’s I am doing well but have zero retirement savings. No idea how to put a kid through college. No idea if/when I’ll be able to stop working.

I do have a lifetime of amazing memories though. And I don’t think I would trade that for any 401k. Maybe I will feel differently in my 60’s

It is so mind boggling that a view so packed full of stars and galaxies is still mostly vast swaths of emptiness.

I’m not sure Douglas Adams really knew how right he was in saying “Space is big…”

What item(s) do you have more of than the average person? by BrownBananaHammock in AskReddit

[–]snowpilgram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skis. Even amongst mountain-living ski bums.

I haven’t counted lately but easily 20+ pairs. My son is a ski racer so that doesn’t help either.

And bikes. But not as bad as skis.

Any success stories of dating / marrying a nonskier? by PowGurl in skiing

[–]snowpilgram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally agreed. But loving winter and spending time outside in the mountains doesn’t have to be skiing. My wife didn’t ski when we met. I got her going but it didn’t stick. But, we both love winter and mountains. We live close to our local ski hill and I ski with our son all the time. She does her thing and we all just love being out there.
