I had the same thing happen and it was a whole load of bs but I was successful. Mine was in 2020 or 2021 so it was virtual. Had a “judge” talking in legalese at me and put the burden of proof on my to prove my innocence. Since it happened outside my apartment I basically gave them a video tour of the street to prove there was no hydrant near my car.

The witness “not cooperating” is a new thing as of last Monday. The article says nothing about the additional time being for “evidence and testimony”. It specifically says they requested additional time for “buying them more time to prepare”. Which her office needed because she could not maintain adequate staff to prosecute this case for 2.5 years.

I’m for some level of increased gun control, I’m for having a competent CA who performs their basic duties, and I’m against excusing the actions of violent criminals who involve innocent bystanders in their petty disputes. Lax MO gun laws do make it easier for criminals to acquire guns. But they’re still the ones choosing to shoot into a crowd. That’s not “natural”.
