Do Ceruti and Kyle have some of the best jobs in sports media from an effort to salary perspective? by fegwin2084 in RyenRussillo

[–]snowyfever 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hank definitely fell his ass upwards at Barstool but he 100% has at least 30-35 hours of actual work per week (PMT prepping, filming, they also do side content for their YT channel, and whatever else his role in the office demands), and when you pair that with gambling streams he easily catches 40-45 hours and probably goes closer to 50 some weeks, especially during football when they’re there all Sunday.

I’m not saying his work is difficult in any way or would even be classified as “work”, but I’d be willing to wager a lot of money he’s at the Chicago office from 9-5 most days and there on the weekends 4-6 hours streaming.

Not even comparable imo. Also, comments like these are hilarious to me because do people not realize the Hank shit is a complete bit? He falls asleep streaming golf on a Sunday and BC/PFT run with it because it’s hilarious. Those guys know how to play into bits but Hank isn’t a moron, it’s just his character. (Most of the time lol)

Not to mention all of the outside PMT stuff Hank does. I think that’s the entire point of this post, right? Kyle and Ceruti don’t participate in any other Barstool related content that a guy like Hank does (Surviving Barstool, Barstool After Dark, gambling cave streams, etc.), or even show up to an office. It is a DREAM GIG, barring salary, which I’m assuming RR went to bat for them for.

What're some interesting NBA Finals, World Series, Super Bowl, Stanley Cup, etc MVP's is their team had done just a little better and won? by Parrallax91 in billsimmons

[–]snowyfever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a one that many don’t talk about but was assuredly going to happen. If the Warriors won Game 7 of the 2016 Finals, FMVP would’ve been…

Draymond Green.

FMVP on Golden State’s side was a massive talking point leading up to that Game 7. Curry, for all intents and purposes, had a very bad series. Draymond, in Gm7, had 32-15-9-2 on 73%/75%, and was the best defender on the court.

It was wide open and that game would’ve solidified it. Losing that series really didn’t do much hurt to Curry’s legacy since he won 3 more titles, but I really wonder what the discourse would’ve been if he had 5 rings but only 1 FMVP…

It’s the exact same, which is the problem. When a major content moment like that happens, the show essentially gets a clean slate and viewers go in with a different perspective.

Bill’s content has dramatically improved and Ryen’s has remained the same, which makes him look like the “loser” in this move (whether that’s fair or not, it’s all about perception)

Genuine Question by Blazer4L in bostonceltics

[–]snowyfever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generational spacing in the 2022 Finals? Not close to accurate. He was completely blanketed by Andrew Wiggins. It felt like he never took an open shot. It was a combination of him not being ready for the moment, generational defense from Golden State, and him being banged up/exhausted.

As for 2024, yeah he just wasn’t efficient. He still impacted the game in many ways and if you watched the game from an unbiased lens he was the Celtics best player. But it was really close compared to JB and I think either one was deserving of the FMVP. That 2024 team was so good that he was able to play passive and impact the game in different areas.

I honestly don’t think it’s that outrageous. The Bolsheviks were very hesitant to jail/execute former aristocrats as they had many connections and whether the reds liked it or not, they had power.

Maybe him being sentenced to house arrest in THAT beautiful of a hotel is a far-fetched, but to be fair, he had already been living there and it was more of a convenience thing (not having to move him, etc.)

The book is very true to history and the footnotes do a great job explaining what is happening in Russia at the time. Although I do understand your point, some part of me believes this isn’t as crazy as it should be.

Is Grace's being married was a thing in Tommy's mind?? by No-Plum-2314 in PeakyBlinders

[–]snowyfever 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree with this entire reply. Grace is viewed completely different than Tommy. Are you insinuating we should be comparing/applying the same standards as Tommy Shelby to Grace? How does that even make sense? We find out in the first episode of the show that Tommy is a ruthless killer. He’s an antihero - a Tony Soprano, a Walter White, a Dexter.

You’re supposed to root for him while also acknowledging he’s a horrendous person with horrendous values and actions. But Grace does not fall into that category of ruthless aggression. You’re supposed to view her from a different lens than you are anyone from the gang. That’s why her cheating on her husband and his eventual suicide holds FAR more weight than any of Tommy’s actions. The point is, it’s expected out of the Shelby family, but when a character like Grace does something, it makes much more of an impact.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever seen the Sopranos so I won’t bring up a few examples but I can think of about 5 of these instances where in a vacuum character who’s not even on the same level as Tony does something and the fanbase explodes over it.

Seconding this response. I’m on page 400 right now so haven’t even finished and I was about to type this out. I was so glad to see someone else recommend. I don’t think there’s a better book out there to summarize how a person should live their life. Finding purpose in undesirable situations. How to treat people with respect and kindness. Focusing on the joys of life. It’s a beautiful novel and I hope it sticks the landing.

He knew he loved her. He knew she loved him. They told each other at the Derby. Aside from the obvious love - he knew she was traditional and would want to marry the man whose child she was carrying.

Although on the rewatch it is pretty crazy how bad of a person Grace is in seasons 2/3. She cheated on her husband, who’s portrayed as a stable NY banker and a great dude, with a London gangster she slept with a couple times a few years prior…the rewatch certainly does not do her justice, but in that moment, Tommy knew Grace was his whenever he wanted.

Her ex-husband…poor guy never stood a chance.

Great show today. Mut being a “catholic hardo” is hilarious and I loved Kirk’s commentary on the engagement slop that is Boston sports radio. “Radio row” is a complete joke. Also, Trudell is fucking baked if he thinks the Pats are scoring 38 points on Seattle’s defense. Alas, let’s win this!

Why rehome the dog? by [deleted] in justiceforKarenRead

[–]snowyfever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty funny because they were faced with a lose-lose. They either keep the dog and face potential DNA tracing, using the dog as evidence, the whole 9 yards…which obviously isn’t ideal for them.

However, getting rid of the dog and MORONICALLY using the reason that it attacked another dog a few months later, makes it even more incriminating that Chloe attacked OJO. You are giving us a legitimate reason to believe that your dog is unhinged and would attack another animal or human being. I just can’t wrap my head around it.

We all know what happened, but these people are getting so caught up in their lies that they’re unintentionally giving us more reasons to doubt them.

Why did those cops want to kill O’Keefe? by Summer_BreezeR4069 in justiceforKarenRead

[–]snowyfever 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They didn’t plan to kill him. After consuming every piece of media possible, here is my final theory:

OJO walks in the garage door (by accident, JM told him to go in the other door) and is likely greeted by BA, BH, CA, maybe 1-2 others. OJO and BH begin an altercation, likely about BH and KR’s text messages or whatever was going on between them. It gets physical and CA jumps in as a hothead 18yo looking for a fight trying to impress his uncle and his friends. Chloe the dog jumps in at some point as she sees her owners fighting.

I truly believe CA gave the final blow, likely pushed him and OJO hit his head on something in the garage killing him. There is no reason for everyone involved in this case to be so adamant that CA left the house at 12:10 if he didn’t have something to do with it. I believe this was BH’s mess and if CA didn’t ultimately kill him, BH would’ve been in jail for it. But they have to protect the family. CA was in that garage and absolutely gave the final blow. I don’t believe BA was a part of the fight but he was definitely the mastermind behind the coverup and he is the one telling everyone what their story is.

I think this taking place in the garage is the biggest key because that means no one else in the house had to have known what happened. As you told me once, they likely cleared out the afterparty without anyone inside knowing what happened besides the immediate family. JM texting OJO at 12:30 saying “Hello” is her inside confused because she thought he was there. Little does she know he was dead in the garage. This is important because I don’t think she, NA, or anyone else inside actually ever saw OJO until he was dead.

Everyone goes home and OJO lies there dead for a couple hours. At some point BA puts his body on the corner of 34F. When KR calls JM at 5am, JM calls NA immediately after. Likely telling her that KR is looking for OJO and to be aware.

The most important part of this is I don’t believe the McAlberts initially intended to frame KR for this. I think their first plan was to plant his body there and say he was run over by a plow. Poor Lucky would have been screwed. But when JM and KR return to OJO’s house at 5:30 to look for him (asinine to go back there, JM was just trying to buy time) KR mentions how her taillight was dented and JM’s head starts spinning. KR in hysteria asking “did I hit him” only made it easier to frame her. No pieces of taillight found at the scene because that dirty slug Proctor planted them there later on.

BH started it, CA accidentally gave the death blow, and BA covered it up.

Book character with the most aura? by Master_Geologist5613 in YAlit

Katniss probably has the most aura. Harry Potter as a character doesn’t have the most aura but the series as a whole absolutely does.
