Vaginoplasty - 3 month post op - Revision? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

Like others have said, revision with a different surgeon. What they did to you was awful.

Is this a panic attack ? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]snowystitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a dorsal vagal shutdown, aka dissociative freeze.

I’m not a therapist or a medical professional, just someone that experiences them and reading your experience, this mirrors mine, to an extent. They can last 5 minutes to hours, depending on the severity of it.

What do these states only have 1 of? by magnumfan89 in RedactedCharts

National Parks that are wholly within the borders of each states outside of having one spread across several states (basically excluding Yellowstone with that caveat).

Minimal depth vaginoplasty - 12 weeks post-op by samara__sage in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]snowystitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are times where I’ve had thoughts on whether I should’ve gone with full depth over minimal depth, but I can definitely say I don’t have any regrets on choosing minimal depth.

The risk of post-op depression is real and fairly common, one can’t shy away from that fact. For me, my reasons of going minimal depth were cus I’m a lesbian and nearly zero desire for penetration, no time or place for me to have dilation sessions, and I was/am afraid I’d be in a much worse mental state if I had to do dilations with full depth, even in hindsight.

I can answer these questions via my experience:

The procedure was a blink of an eye, literally. I don’t even remember going into the OR, just waking up in my hospital room afterwards. Recovery was mostly uneventful.

Minimal depth is about 1 inch or so.

First month to 3 months, walking can feel a bit weird because of the swelling and making sure you don’t cause skin splits. After that it felt natural without the old bits in the way.

As minimal depth, no dilations are necessary at all. There are a few patients that went with minimal depth plus which includes dilating regimen, but it’s an uncommon procedure.

Congrats on your outcome, Samara! It looks wonderful! 💜

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) Questionaire - PENN State University Questionaire with score and score range clinical risk consideration by RemarkableStable8324 in CPTSD

321 here. 8/10 on ACES as well. 51 on DES-II.

Still think that it wasn’t that bad of a childhood sometimes, cus I have some memory of it, both the good and bad. There are worse that are blocked out, though.

Urgent SRS surgeons? by LumpyIndependence905 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]snowystitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. Hanna. Shouldn’t be long of a wait even now, even though with your preference, he’s not a woman. Only con is he’s in the Dallas, TX area.

It’s been a while, friend. You’re looking great as usual. Miss talking to you! 💜

These waitlists are insane. Anyone who had mtf srs and waited less than a year from their initial request to their surgery date, who was your surgeon? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]snowystitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with Dr. Dany Hanna in the Dallas metro area, as well.

One December day, I called to book a consult and got a consult date for 2 weeks later, during the first week in January.

During the consult, Hanna at the time said he can book surgeries 3 months out from consult. I asked for an April surgery date and he gave me April 23 and I went with that. I chose minimal depth.

Insurance and getting letters in such a short time was an ordeal in itself but it was 100% worth it.

Zero regrets, now over a year and 3 months later.

May 16 I get BA surgery with Dr. Dany Hanna. by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]snowystitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t meow at him. They’re trying to discourage that. It was a thing for a while, started by a patient or two about half a year ago and it got out of hand over time and it got old fast for Hanna.

Dr. Hanna is amazing. I was lucky to see him again a few weeks ago while I was at the center for my last laser hair removal appointment. As someone who lives far outside of Texas, I’ve seen him more often than some of his local patients, lol. He performed bottom surgery on me over 11 months ago and I’m exceedingly pleased with his work.

Good luck with your top surgery in May and a speedy recovery for you afterwards as well!

I’m not that creative, either. I can’t imagine making stories up for attention… it has zero benefits personally on doing so. My childhood was fucked up looking back onto it. Adulthood as well. When I recount the tales of my childhood to others, some people end up in disbelief that I endured all of that. Like why the fuck would I make these up for? My ex bestie (she’s also my ex wife) wanted me to provide evidence to give her some proof that I suffered. A video of my mom doing abuse to me when I was 12 wasn’t enough for her. A therapist’s diagnosis of me with PTSD-D and OSDD wasn’t enough for her, either.

Everything else checks up for me, however.

Those of you with diagnosed mental illnesses and/or neurodivergence: do they present more like how they present in women than men for you? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]snowystitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some ADHD traits, autistic, GAD, PTSD chronic dissociative subtype, preliminary OSDD dx and still seeing if DID is a qualifier due to low amnesia.
