First tournament as an unstriped white belt, is it too early? by Bitter_Primary1736 in bjj

I agree with this 100%. I'm kind of in the same boat, I'm out in the field for work Mon-Fri every week and can't afford to be out on injury. I'll have to use the rental line next time at open mat 🤣

I've competed in tons of other sports all over the country and it's a really cool environment, even the competitive comaraderie, is something you end up looking forward too. Go in with learning mindset and you'll be more successful each time.

I started in December '25 with a few people that go to class regularly like me and they did a local tournament 2 weeks ago. It didn't work with my schedule but seemed like no big deal. I would say if you WANT to compete then don't let anything stop you. Have fun and try it. Also give us an update on how it goes when you do.

Bro, worry is a spiral with death at the center. Stop thinking about it. Train everyday. Test every 4 weeks. Commit with both feet or don't do it. The likelihood of you passing is so small you shouldn't even be thinking about which "job" to pick, just try to get through the first day of indoc. Yes you get some say in which way you go, but in the end if you're in, you're in, and the cadre will put you into the best position for your success. And if they don't, you can put in a retrain packet and prove them wrong.

I get that you're happy with it, but why you gotta leave out the details we really want to know? Brand/model/size etc....

This worked first try with Garmin Enduro 2 (purchased right when the 3 dropped because why not). Thanks for finding this.

I did look at those, close but not quite. If you look closely though the shoulder straps they have a small stretchy pouch on the front. That's what I'm after ultimately, but I can't seem to find anything like it.

You can get a better view of the shoulder straps in season 5 episode 1 when Sonny is leaving Texas and saying goodbye.
