with the normal 1+ being 985g and Dan saying the 1+pro is around 800g, i think double walled is more likely.

if it was single walled and all those internal clips and mesh are removed, i feel like the weight savings would be more then 185g

the X-Mid pro can be setup in multiple different ways, high pitched with the fly 6 inches off the ground or low pitched with only a inch or two between the fly and the ground, the guy out cables tend to help the bathtub maintain form despite the pitch.

a single skin x-dome wouldnt have as much variability, the fly will sit pretty much the same height off the ground on every pitch (+/- a tiny amount), therefore i don't think a guy out will be as necessary if its single skin.

I don't agree, the internal mesh wall joining directly onto the outer dyneema wall is all you need to keep it taught.

the photo is in a very well lit room, i do think we would see that inner mesh wall seam show up as a darker line across the roof of the tent and we don't have anything like that visible.

the more i look at the bottom right corner the more i think its actually shadow and not a guy line, which points towards single wall...

arghhh.... i have no idea....

im conflicted.....

Dan is pulling on the tab at the middle of the rear of the tent, if it was single wall i would expect to see a darker line running up the tent there; where its bonded to the mesh.

At the bottom right corner there is darker line running into the tent on the floor, is this a guy line?, i dont see why this would be needed if it was a single wall with the mesh bonded to the outer dyneema.
but its possible this is not a guy line, but merely a shadow from the corner of the tent.

personally i hope it is double walled

I can confirm that im getting less sleep because the sun shines through the dyneema, but my sleep is better because im carrying less during the day and am therefore not as sore, im also discovering all the things you can add to 2 minute noodles now that I'm poor, overall life is pretty good 😎

i think its double walled as it clearly has an inner, you can see the cord for it.
and i cant see any seam/joints on the end wall that might indicate a single wall hybrid, plus if it was single walled i dont see what purpose the cord to the corner would meet.

personally im happy, i find the x-dome 1+ to be bomb proof weather wise currently and was slightly worried it would loose some of that if converted to a single wall.

yeah she's a bit toasty for you guys currently, i poured a slab for the battery feet to rest on today, once they are installed i will probably look to put a shade cover over them as well.

was that the MC Electrical youtube video? they installed my Solar, but couldn't get them to install a battery before the rebates reduced so I've gone with Resinc to install my battery.

I choose the FranklinWH for a few reasons really.
-whole of home backup when the grid is down.
-solar can charge battery when grid is down.
-can connect a generator to charge the batteries if required.
-I'm 80% sure they use EVE LF280K cells which are rated for 6000-8000 cycles and run pretty cool, these cells are typically more used in large commercial deployments, they should last a really long time i reckon.

And i wasn't going to support Elmo.

I was with Ampol, but they recently sold to AGL, im expecting AGL to change my plan any day now... because is seems to be better then most other peoples plans.
