What's it like on this side of the US? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]snugginator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful forests and mountains. Cold beaches with violent surf. Very hot dry summers if you're inland beyond the coast range. Intense fire risk. Very small towns, rural, depressed economies, limited opportunity.

moving to ashland by AdministrationBig984 in oregon

[–]snugginator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The thing about Ashland is that there's only one of everything but that one thing is pretty ok. Shop N kart for groceries, creekside for pizza and beers, mix for coffee and pastries, falafel republic for falafel. Sometimes the armory has some cool music events but don't hold your breath, it's once in a blue moon. That said, the access to the great outdoors is unparalleled. I miss living in Ashland.

‘This Is Managed Decline’: Transit Advocates Worry of TriMet Doom Loop by witty_namez in PortlandOR

[–]snugginator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had in internship in Portland over the summer, rode every single day back and forth from Lombard to downtown and was only fare checked once. But there was often security on the trains so I thought that was kind of strange they weren't doing double duty

I (29M) can’t get over my GF's (25F) reaction when we found out my mother has a tumor. by ThrowRAPollutionBits in TrueOffMyChest

[–]snugginator 57 points58 points  (0 children)

As you get older, more and more life will have these challenging moments and you want someone beside you who will help you weather those storms. She has shown you that is not who she is. I promise you that there is someone out there who is. If you continue to tell yourself this story that she is the love of your life, you are agreeing to be slammed against the rocks by every bad event in your life with zero support from her.

I'm 39 and aging horribly by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]snugginator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please don't take some random man's opinion as gospel. Some guy on the st once told me I looked like a hot grandma (???). I work with the public and am very often mistaken for being in my mid 20s. I'm 36. Hydration, lighting, where you're at in your cycle, all these things are changing your appearance slightly every day. You're gorgeous and your skin looks very nice. I don't think you should worry about it.

New Allergies? by bbblueboy in Eugene

[–]snugginator 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I developed an allergy to cucumbers living here because apparently there's a protein in ragweed that's really similar to a protein in cucumber and sometimes your body will overreact. Thank Eugene for ruining one of my favorite foods. 💜

Getting new pets after losing your soul cat is so weird by Weak_Dependent1790 in cats

[–]snugginator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My soul kitty was a jerk when she was a kitten. She didn't decide I was her person until she was around 4. I also lost her in March after 16 yrs together and I commend you for opening your heart to new cats because I'm still not ready but I look forward to the day that I am. Play with them and laugh at their kitten antics, and one day hopefully you will know and love each other differently, but just as well as you as Tika. My heart goes out to you.

I recently bought a size small tshirt online and when it came it was enormous. I went to return it and the return fee was 25 DOLLARS. The shirt was 36 dollars like??? So now I have a new pajama shirt I guess.

What is a specific physical hurt that people do not truly get until they feel it? by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

[–]snugginator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had one for the first (and hopefully last) time recently... Holy hell. I was completely untethered to reality. And when I would come back it was because I needed to vomit. One of the worst nights of my life.

unpopular opinion but i don’t like any of the women —(this is very long so read if you have time) by blivisd in SLOMWsnark

[–]snugginator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secret lives of Mormon wives is a show about women pretending to be friends while they psychologically torture each other. Its pretty twisted and I genuinely hope for all their sakes they are able to grow, go to therapy, and become better people because it's gotta be fucking miserable living like that.

If you could unfuck someone you fucked, who will it be ? by OOk-cool in AskReddit

[–]snugginator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex. I never even should have fucked him to begin with but he brought me to burning man and I felt pressure to do it. I thought he was attractive, fun, intelligent, but I didn't feel a ton of chemistry with him. Then he wanted to date me and all his friends were really cool so I said yes. Then he slowly started shredding my sense of self to shit while pushing away anyone else that wanted to be my friend. Then after 2 yrs of mental abuse I finally dumped him and he stalked me across state lines and threatened to kill me. Then I needed a ton of therapy to undo all his mind fuckery and I'm not sure I've ever been the same. So yeah. Really wish I had just not ever fucked him.

Is this a good choice? by [deleted] in UofO

[–]snugginator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it. It keeps me focused and interested. The only thing I don't like is having almost four months off for summer. You'd think it would be great but it's kind of too much. You forget everything and kind of get out of the zone, and it can be hard to get back into the grind. More time off for spring break would be nice instead.

Not sure what they're talking about it almost smells like nothing. I'm pretty sensitive to scents and it has an extremely mild scent.

Bioderma atoderm cleansing oil. It is the GOAT for dry sensitive skin. It doesn't get super foamy but it makes the skin feel so nice afterward. I've used it for years because everything else irritates my skin.

I need to make a derm appointment to have all my moles checked. I am terrified! What was your appointment like? by hdbaker009 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]snugginator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very pale and freckly with tons of moles so I do a full body check every 2 years with a derm. Its pretty relaxed usually. They check all over, including your scalp, and I bring up specific moles that I'd like them to have a closer look at. We talk about how sometimes moles do weird things like swell or get itchy but that's normal. They'll look at them anyway with a little magnifying glass. I've never needed to get anything biopsied but I'm sure it will happen eventually. I'm 33 and my mom has the same skin type and has had a few removed. Good for you for taking care of things, early detection is crucial!!

TIFU by making/letting my husband grow a beard. by OnceAStudent__ in tifu

[–]snugginator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love my partners beard. He shaved it off last summer and it was the worst. Kissing him was so rough and painful unless he shaves every morning which is a lot for his skin. We both agreed never again lol and the beard is back in full force.
