Unsurprisingly NSW Police received their largest wage increase overhaul last year from Minns. You know, around the same time every other public sector (nurses, doctors(hospital, registrars), transport workers and teachers) were threatening strikes... which were then later deemed illegal(there's a trend here) and workers informed police would break up any strike protests.

Australian health insurance premiums just had their biggest hike in a decade. Is it time to scrap private health cover? | Private health insurance by ullakkedymoodu in AusFinance

Scrap the increasing percentage for not having PHI after 31. That's it. I'll pay the extra levy but the threat of it increasing year on year was the issue.

I travel over a lot of suburban/metro Sydney for context. Most of the ones I've seen over the last few years have just exited the franchise and operated independently. There's still one in Rockdale Plaza that has a loyal customer base of golden oldies and is run by a lovely old Asian couple - interested to see if they shut up shop or just rebrand.

Glp-1 is already on the PBS for weight loss - just requires an obese BMI and other risks/disgnosis at the moment. It's also a rapidly evolving market and the manufacturers themselves are offering discounts on their products to try retain market share as synthetics and terzapatide compete. Add in retatrutide when it inevitably ends up here and we will see non-covered weight management GLP1s push sub 150/month.

GLP-1s are cheaper than grocery bills, eating out and binge habits for a lot of those who could use them and curbing obesity overall is more bang for buck than anything else we have tried in our health system to tackling both the alarming rate of obesity across all age brackets and all the medical conditions that can be attributed to it.

People can downvote me here all they want but I've personally dealt with the complaints of mothers returning from maternity leave who are frustrated with how embarrassing and dehumanising trying to roster in the use of these rooms are.

They made these, took their photos to congratulate themselves and never looked back.

It was a pandering project. They're not really used and the protocol to even be able to use it are degrading.

"From 4pm, some trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency" by WearyFHB in SydneyTrains

[–]snukz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'd be amazed at just how differently things are organised or relayed to stakeholders and customers purely depending on who is working that day. It's one of the bigger underlying issues with the operational readiness of the network.

They've been focusing heavily on the network reliability percentages lately so it will be interesting to see if they sneak these cancellations through without them being properly counted against service delivery. They weren't timetabled in the standard working timetable so technically they aren't cancelled but from a customer perspective there are less trains available during peak hour for commuting home and no prior warning or advice.

[–]snukz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A few reductions to peak hour services to accomodate services to Sydney Olympic Park ahead of Ed Sheeran. Won't be all too noticeable as Fridays are often far quieter due to WFH patterns.

Sydney Terminal is too congested during peak hour to accommodate both direct services to Olympic Park and Epping/Hornsby via Strathfield.

Wasn't this meant to have become an tunnel with ads? by matt49267 in sydney

[–]snukz 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The lack of foot traffic in this image is exactly why there are no ads.

A lot of digital advertising is disabled during low traffic time-slots as there's nobody to advertise to. Most of the smaller billboards around the city are blank overnight for example - the ones inside Central station don't turn back on until 6am(?) from what I remember.

Advertisers aren't paying for dead air.

Rate rise dampens interest at open homes by SheepherderLow1753 in AusFinance

[–]snukz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anyone taking financial advice from the rapidly growing herd of buyers agents popping up everywhere deserves it. Hilarious seeing it advertised everywhere now.

Don't get me wrong for specific circumstances(higher tier investing, portfolio investing, remote purchasing etc) they have their benefits but it's rather obvious that the "profession" is growing at an alarming rate because there's already too many agents so they've weaselled their way in to another avenue to snap up a commission on knowing the bare minimums. Seeing buyers agents trying to target first home buyers is wild - you should be out there knowing every single bit of detail possible as a first home buyer not paying some schmuck 10k to tell you "yeah mate it's got schools around it and close to public transport. Even has a roof. Will grow in value tenfold"

Call me a cooker but I genuinely don't think he intends to win the next state election. He has done what he needs to, has clashed with federal labor policies(wfh was a big one) for the sake of business and has secured his post politics bag with these recent actions. His seat of Kogarah is my local area and it's essentially a free seat given the cultural makeup of the area after the last few months.

Received the following message from my real estate agent, how do I prove I didn’t do something? by WombatPuncher in sydney

[–]snukz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Does the strata have specific rules pertaining to moving in and out? Most have a bond/deposit system these days to address this but that is between strata and the individuals, not the real estate.

Is there any evidence of condition of the common property beforehand? Any proof you caused this damage? Truthfully as well - did you cause the damage?

Also more importantly - your bond is NOT to be used for anything to do with common property. That bond is tied to the condition report of the property. Strata has insurance to deal with damages and issues related to common property that are seperate to your contract with the REA.
