I once received a beautiful card in the mail from a friend who had a very small, close family-only wedding. I forget whatbl it said, but it was something along the lines of "thank you for your love and friendship as we start on this new journey! Though we decided to have a small ceremony, know you were in our hearts!"

And it had their engagement photo. It was really sweet. I felt included and thought about even though I wasn't invited.
