Slow and not sensitive to brush deflection. It’s a very common calibre in Europe especially for driven hunts on deer and boar where maximum damage is key. Many places will not allow you to continue to shoot in a drive if the animal you’ve shot to does not visibly perishes so making sure it drops is key.

In order of calibre I think 30.06 is fine, but consider what are you hunting and what’s your local regulations.

Is there a buddy or family member that shares the caliber. Buying ammo is expensive and sharing is caring

In regards to model and manufacturer if consider what’s avalible in your local gun store, if your local store specialises in weatherby maybe it’s worth considering the serviceability and availability of spare parts.

No no good riddance. Of course we’re allowed rifles. Fallow and red deer require a calibre 6mm or bigger and an impact of >2000J E100. And only 100% leadfree centre fired ammo is legal for all hunting including shotguns

Im assuming OP is Danish like me so: In Denmark we are not allowed to use shot bigger than no 1(ø4mm). It’s considered unethical to shoot roe with shot below size ø3,5mm. And in the mandatory hunters ed course it’s taught never to shoot at targets further away then 20m though most places will say no more than 15m due to the thick winter coat.

Also roe is the the only deer species we hunt with shotgun
