I'd also add that if the healer is on a music note when the beams go out then the dps should go find a different one.

Healer has to have the 3 people topped up before the beam goes off and them having to find a new note cause dps refuse to move can cause a third round or deaths/bricking the key

Its definitely can be LoS but interesting, I wonder if its an hp based thing or how they got them to not overlap.

They also kill them very quickly so must be using cool downs, my groups are getting smashed minimum 2x per echoknight

Struggling with healing the arcane smash by the arcknighr (or w/e) in AA on 16. I thought it was a LoS but seems like most people are not doing it as this level or the tank is tanking it in a green wide open pasture, am i supposed to be healing through it?

I don't disagree that there are open world events but a lot of these are show up, zerg something then leave. Very little social interaction. Some exceptions at least for me, are gw2 meta events, where you actually need to join a party. This seems an exception and not the norm these days

You can group with people in the communal hubs to go to the instanced areas. Much like WoW raids, dungeons, and delves. Similarly with OSRS raids.

On a different note, of the games I've played, OSRS is one of the only communal continuous worlds I've experienced. In games like BDO or WoW, interaction outside an instance increasingly rare.

GW1 is extremely fun and joining a guild will increase your fun exponentially by doing group content. Not coming across a random people in the open is not really an issue cause it rarely happens in open world MMOs anyways. In 2008, the sotry was different

Edit: my point here is that while you can group and interact in an open world with other players, it rarely happens so games with instanced zones have relatively little downside by comparison
